- Offers a peer mediation and support program for youth to addres conflict/violence in the school that impacts the school community
- Identifies the primary needs and risk level of the youth and the appropriate intervention
- Provides referrals to other community resources or supports if needed
- Provides youth the opportunity to be accountable for their behaviour and strengthen their social skills
- Develops relationships between the school and the youth to support learning, increased school engagement, and achievemet
- Eligibility
- Youth who are:
- between 12-21 years of age
- enrolled in elementary or secondary school
- engaged in conflict/violence that impacts the school community
- willing to accept responsibility for their actions
- between 12-21 years of age
- Application Process
- Referrals can be made by teachers, school administrators, probation officers, police, a youth based agency, parent/guardian, or by the youth
