Restorative Justice and Conflict Mediation Program


Description
  • Offers a peer mediation and support program for youth to addres conflict/violence in the school that impacts the school community
  • Identifies the primary needs and risk level of the youth and the appropriate intervention
  • Provides referrals to other community resources or supports if needed
  • Provides youth the opportunity to be accountable for their behaviour and strengthen their social skills
  • Develops relationships between the school and the youth to support learning, increased school engagement, and achievemet
Eligibility
Youth who are:
  • between 12-21 years of age
  • enrolled in elementary or secondary school
  • engaged in conflict/violence that impacts the school community
  • willing to accept responsibility for their actions
Application Process
Referrals can be made by teachers, school administrators, probation officers, police, a youth based agency, parent/guardian, or by the youth
