- Community-based agency dedicated to helping youth and their families overcome substance use, mental health and related issues
Programs and services include:- comprehensive assessment
- three-month residential treatment (flexible)
- up to three-month post-residential continuing care
- family services
- psychiatric care and primary health care on a limited basis
- 24-hour residential addiction treatment 10-bed facility for young females
- reduces the risks that lead to relapse and facilitates community linkage and support
- engages with youth and families immediately after the residential phase has ended
- parent education
- crisis support
- family counselling
- clients receive individualized programming and are able to earn high school credits
- Eligibility
- Residential admission criteria:
- youth is 13-21 years of age at time of inpatient admission
- diagnosis or symptoms consistent with mild to moderate substance use disorder
- inability to control substance use at lower treatment intensity settings
- significant functional impairment as a result of substance use
- use within the past 30 days
- willingness to actively work towards healthy lifestyle goals
Exclusionary criteria:- actively homicidal/suicidal (at time of application/admission)
- significant intellectual challenges that preclude meaningful participation
- severe and uncontrolled mental health issues (e.g. psychosis)
- significant violence and/or incarceration history (especially in 18+ age group)
