- homes are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable, no-interest mortgage
- homeowners' monthly mortgage payments go into a revolving fund, which is used to build more homes
- selection process determines who qualifies for housing
- building supply store that accepts and resell quality new and used building materials, furniture, appliances, and household items
