Description
Literacy/essential skills instruction:
  • training in reading, writing, math, and computer skills
  • help adults to go on to further education, or increase their independence, enter into apprenticeship
  • main focus is on unemployed adults
  • open to employed Ontarians who need to improve their literacy skills in order to maintain or upgrade their work skills
  • educational/literacy assessments
Eligibility
    Individuals
  • 19 years and older (some exceptions may apply)

  • out of school and lacking the literacy skills necessary to find and keep a job or to meet everyday needs

  • must be able to demonstrate progress

  • learners may participate in one-on-one tutoring sessions and/or small/large groups depending on learning needs as determined at the time of assessment

  • Agency specializes in vocational training
