- Literacy/essential skills instruction:
- training in reading, writing, math, and computer skills
- help adults to go on to further education, or increase their independence, enter into apprenticeship
- main focus is on unemployed adults
- open to employed Ontarians who need to improve their literacy skills in order to maintain or upgrade their work skills
- educational/literacy assessments

- Individuals
- 19 years and older (some exceptions may apply)
- out of school and lacking the literacy skills necessary to find and keep a job or to meet everyday needs
- must be able to demonstrate progress
- learners may participate in one-on-one tutoring sessions and/or small/large groups depending on learning needs as determined at the time of assessment
