Opportunity for teacher candidates to specialize in Aboriginal education
  • qualifies graduates for the Ontario College of Teachers certification
  • four successive terms, starting in May and ending in August the following year
  • for both Primary-Junior (junior kindergarten to grade 6) and Intermediate-Senior (grades 7-12)
  • courses include Aboriginal perspectives, balancing Aboriginal-specific and student-centred learning with knowledge of the teaching/learning process, and research on Aboriginal education
Eligibility
  • Concurrent Education students in their final year as well as Consecutive Education teacher candidates
  • Suited to both Aboriginal (Status, non-Status, or Métis) and non-Aboriginal students with a university degree who are interested in Aboriginal education
  • priority is given to Aboriginal applicants
