Specialized legal clinic providing advice, assistance and representation in the area of correctional law
  • legal services are provided to clients by students under the supervision of the Clinic's lawyers, as part of their legal education
  • inmate appeals against conviction and sentence
  • teaching program for Queen's law students
  • represent clients at Disciplinary Court Hearings
  • represent clients at Hearings before the Parole Board of Canada
  • draft grievances
  • provide legal opinions
  • conduct meetings with inmate groups at Kingston-area penitentiaries
  • conduct test case litigation
Eligibility
    Inmates of federal penitentiaries in:
  • Bath Institution, including Regional Treatment Centre

  • Warkworth Institution

  • Joyceville Institution - Medium

  • Joyceville Institution - Minimum

  • Millhaven Institution, including Regional Treatment Centre

  • Collins Bay Institution - Maximum

  • Collins Bay Institution - Medium

  • Collins Bay Institution - Minimum
