- Offers young people the opportunity to engage meaningfully in the food system as growers, market gardeners and lifelong learners
Provides employment and experiential education opportunities to young people who face barriers to success in these areas, including the following:- S.H.O.W. (Seasonal Horticultural Outdoor Worker) Program - hires youth aged 18-30 for 5-month long contracts growing food throughout the Thunder Bay area, providing general employment training skills
- Urban Youth Farm Program - in partnership with the Lakehead District Shool Board, high school students aged 16-18 are hired for 7 weeks in July and August to build employment skills and get co-op credits for running one of the Urban Garden sites and working with local farmers
