- Description
- Offers literacy, numeracy and essential skills services
- Provides adults with training in reading, writing and math to help learners achieve the necessary skills to find or keep employment, go on to further education, or increase their independence
- Offers a free educational assessment to new learners
- Grants credits for maturity, equivalent education and Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)
- Provides high school students who have received 40-47% in one course with an opportunity to complete extra assignment(s) in the unit(s) of difficulty to achieve a passing grade of at least 50% in the course
- Eligibility
- Individuals 16 years of age or older, who are out of school or unemployed
- Offered to Ontarians who need to improve their literacy skills in order to maintain or upgrade their work skills
- Alternative school: 16-20 years of age
- Adult secondary school: minimum 20 years of age
- Credit Recovery Program: students must be enrolled in a high school program
