  • Responsible for stimulating local economy and developing economic initiatives and opportunities for the community
  • Provides services through guidance and partnership with Waubetek Business Development Corporation (WBDC)
  • Provides information, training and educational workshops to enhance employability skills
  • Posts employment opportunities in Band office
  • Works to access funding for Band-owned business ventures
  • Provides coaching in areas such as business plan development and assistance in obtaining financial support for people wanting to start own business
  • Maintains updated statistics regarding population trends, employment, skills and the community profile
  • Participation in a Swim Drink Fish program that tests water quality; Began late 2018 and will run to at least 2021; monitoring had taken place at Gaanogwong Apgishmok, Sandy Bay and Rocky Bay beaches in Zhiibaahaasing which were chosen because they are important for recreational activities, drinking water and for swimming
