21-unit second stage transitional housing program that provides counselling and support to women and their children who have experienced abuse * transitional + affordable housing in a more secure townhouse complex along with individual and group supports to assist women in accomplishing short and long-term goals * transitional program specifically for women, with or without children, who have left abusive partners * this program is also available on an outreach basis for women not wishing to reside at Ingamo

20 rent-geared-to-income housing for women with or without children who have experienced violence. Focus on safety. Provides affordable housing for up to one year. Offers women's and children's group programs as well as individual counseling. Outreach services available. On-site art therapist. All units are ground floor but only one unit is fully accessible.

COVID19. All visitors will be screened for COVID-19 before entry and masks and social distancing measures (stay 6ft apart) are mandatory. Residents of the Emily Murphy Centre can have one visitor in their apartment as long as that visitor is healthy and is allowed in the building under our regular visiting polices. If you are experiencing violence and would like to reach out, please call 519-273-7350. Donations are accepted during the new office hours only. Please call ahead so we can meet you outside and receive your gift. Tablets available to borrow by residents - sign out of the office after reading and agreeing to the terms of use - from 10 am and must be returned to the office by 3 pm - devices for in-house clients only. Transitional Second Stage housing, counselling, support groups, educational classes, art therapy, practical assistance for abused women, with or without children. Offers rent-geared-to-income housing for women and their children with a focus on safety. Outreach services. Trauma-informed counselling and training.

Supervised transitional hostel for male and female youth 16 - 24 years of age. Can stay for up to one year. Have private rooms, shared washrooms, kitchen facilities, laundry facilities and lounge area. Youth are provided with life skills training, guidance and support in a safe, violence and substance free living environment. Youth social workers are available 24 hours a day to assist with independent living skills. Youth living at LOFY. must be drug and alcohol-free (policy is strictly enforced).

Provides emergency or transitional shelter, support services to homeless and at-risk youth across Perth County. Youth are provided with basic needs, community referrals, life skills. Constant staff support to help them move forward and into a successful independent living situation. Serving Ages 16 - 24.

24 hour helpline and crisis line, counselling service for individuals in acute emotional distress and/or with mental illness, face-to-face support and assessment 7 days a week in the local community serving 8 hospital ER departments. Crisis staff will provide onsite assessment in the individual's home in the company of local police service. Will assist individuals to find the appropriate addictions or mental health service.

Emergency Room assistance available at all 8 hospitals, call ahead to ensure that a staff person can go to the hospital location.

Emergency Homelessness - People and families in need of emergency housing should contact the Ontario Works or ODSP office during regular work hours. Outside of normal business hours, contact the Huron Perth Helpline and Crisis Response Team for assistance.

Program is mobile with police in Huron and Perth counties.

Assists women to develop goals as they leave an abusive relationship

• provides information and help accessing and maintaining housing, court support, and advocacy
  
• provides legal advocacy services for Family law and criminal law issues to women

Services offered:

• support in developing a Transition Plan to become free of abuse
  
• information on other services for women and their children within the community and assistance with securing those services
  
• help in understanding abuse and how it affects women and their children
  
• court support in both family and criminal matters
  
• accompaniment to appointments and advocacy where the women requires support
  
• development of a safety plan
  
• assistance completing applications and documentation - housing, immigration, disability
  
• resource and referral Information

Arrangements can be made for women without access to transportation

CMHA manages affordable rental units throughout Huron and Perth Counties, includes owned buildings and sublet units from local landlords. Tenants with limited income and evidence of a mental illness may qualify for a rental subsidy based on income. Support services are provided to assist tenants to maintain their residences. Long and short term accommodation is provided Transitional units provide temporary furnished accommodation to facilitate discharges from hospital and assess a person's skills to maintain permanent housing. Community Homes for Opportunity (CHO) - supportive housing program for people with serious mental illness

An agency working to end interpersonal violence and abuse by supporting individuals and families who have experienced domestic violence, intimate partner violence, or gender-based violence through the provision of crisis intervention, emergency shelter, transitional support, children's programs, and counselling; and by fostering accountability for those who harm through intervention, counselling, public education, and systemic advocacy


Programs and services include:

• Crisis Line and Emergency Shelter - 33 emergency beds for abused and/or homeless women and children. Open 24/7 providing a safe haven, meals, support, and referrals to community resources

• Transitional Housing: Maria House - 8 residential units for longer-term residential stays for women and children in a setting that combines independent living with counselling and support

• Outreach- services for women wanting to make the transition to independent, violence-free living. Includes safety planning, accompaniment (i.e. to court, lawyer's office), home support, referrals and follow-up

• Counselling Services include:
  • Abuse Recovery Groups (for women 18+)
  • Caring Families (for high conflict families and their children)
  • Children Exposed to Domestic Violence (for children ages 6-16)
  • Mothers in Mind (for mothers and their children ages 0-5)
  • Challenge to Change ( PAR for men and women, SCRIBE for men only)

• Family Court Support - provide support and accompaniment for clients to family court, lawyers appointments and assist in navigating the Family Court system

• Violence Prevention and Community Outreach - presentations/seminars delivered to elementary students, secondary students, post-secondary institutions, service clubs, churches, businesses and other groups on such topics as domestic violence, teen dating violence, sexual harassment and healthy relationships

• Partner Assault Response (PAR) 12-week group education and counselling program on domestic violence and non-abusive ways of resolving conflict
• victims/partners of the offender provided with support including safety planning, referrals to community resources, and information on offender's progress

• Volunteer Program - volunteers play a major role in fundraising and assisting staff with programs and services. Positions include Shelter Assistant, Emergency Child care Provider, Volunteer Driver, Housing and Employment Assistant, Tutor, Special Events Volunteer, Receptionist. Skilled volunteers also offer services such as massage therapy, yoga, and hairdressing on a regular basis to residential clients

This program helps youth, who have a history of involvement with Children's Aid Society (CAS), find and access adult services and resources and make the transition Youth In Transition Worker helps youth to make plans and decisions regarding: housing education health care life skills employment personal goals & well being

Substance abuse program that accommodates up to 11 male federal offenders on unescorted temporary absences (UTAs), day parole, statutory release with residency and long-term supervision orders referred by Correctional Services of Canada (CSC)

Programs offered include:

• release planning
• individual counselling
• transition planning/follow-up

Service provides meals, community meal program, emergency accommodation, transitional housing, intake, assessment and referral services

• counselling on-site, (group/individual) on a short/long term basis until alternative arrangements can be made for housing or treatment needs - formal/informal, collaboration with community partner organizations and agencies
  
• operates a halfway house (CRF) for men entering parole

A transitional home for Indigenous men who are experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness with a focus on addiction recovery

Transitional home for Indigenous women with or without children who are experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness

Women with Indigenous children in their custody would also benefit from the program

A transitional home for Indigenous families, or fathers with custody, who are experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness

Transitional home for Indigenous youth who are experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness

8-bed residential recovery home that provides services to women with alcohol and other drug problems

One-on-one and group counselling and social and recreational programs * follow-up contact offered to ex-residents who are encouraged to remain involved in community rehabilitation programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous

Long term recovery home * people reside from a minimum of three months to one year

Men's Residence - 8-bed residential recovery home that provides services to men with alcohol and other drug problems

Women's Residence - 8-bed residential recovery home that provides services to women with alcohol and other drug problems

Transitional Housing Program - provides support to people exiting the shelter system or people at risk of homelessness. Transitional Housing is a 11-bed co-ed, all-inclusive semi-independent program for people between 18 and 29 years of age who are ready to learn the skills they need to live independently

Services provided:

• client-driven self-identified goals, case management and life skills coaching
• support with getting back into school, referrals to supportive housing programs, employment, addictions and mental health services as well as community support and services
• transition planning and follow-up support when graduating from the program

Community based, nonresidential, long term structured program providing alternative to imprisonment

Monica Place supports pregnant or parenting youth and their children who may benefit from:

• Safe and supervised residential living
  
• Practical and emotional support with respect to pregnancy or parenting
  
• Support to continue with education, on-site counselling available
  
• Individualized goal planning
  
• Life skills teaching
  
• Decision-making

Monica Place maintains a trauma-informed approach to providing support. The programs offered incorporate and promote the positive parenting principles initiated by the Positive Parenting Community Committee of Waterloo Region.

Marillac Place provides a safe home for women 16 years and older who are pregnant, or who have a child in their care, or who are attempting to regain care of their child.
