- Tax adjustment applications are available for those property owners who are applying for tax relief due to sickness or extreme poverty under Section 357. (1) (d.1) of the Ontario Municipal Act
- Intention of program is to provide temporary relief for property owners who may qualify
- The Tax Adjustment applies to only single family residential homes

- The intent of the program is to help tenants sustain their accommodation and avoid eviction.
- If a tenant's application is approved, the outstanding rent is paid directly to the landlord on behalf of the tenant.
- Program Funding for each approved applicant shall not exceed two times the average market rent for the recipient's Service System Manager's area as set by the Ministry from time to time.
- Assistance may only be issued once every two years.

Eligible individuals can receive up to $50,000 max in a forgivable loan and up to $5000 max in the form of a grant for accessibility repairs.

Irish Miracle Food Drive - Dec 3, St Pat's students will be collecting door to door.
People living outside Sarnia must contact their nearest Catholic Church or St. Vincent de Paul store in their community to request assistance.
- Provide one-time assistance in the form of a 10-year forgivable loan, which is secured by registration on title, for home repairs to a maximum of $20,000 per household.
- Provides one-time assistance in the form of a grant, which does not require repayment, for accessibility improvements to a maximum of $5,000 per household.

Learning, Earning and Parenting (LEAP) - Program for eligible Ontario Works clients * parents under the age of 18 must participate in the program to remain eligible for OW * parents between the ages of 18 to 25 may voluntarily participate * completion of LEAP requirements entitles participant to $500 bursary, to be applied to post-secondary education, or may be saved for their children

Housing Stability Bank includes:
Rental Assistance Program - Interest-free loans to assist with rental arrears, first month's rent (ODSP recipients only) and/or last month's rent
Emergency Utility Assistance - Grants (until grant funds are exhausted annually) or interest-free loans to assist with utility arrears (gas, electricity or water)
- Effective Jan 1, 2017, to obtain an Emergency Utility Assistance Gas Arrears Grant through the Housing Stability Bank, applicants must first complete intake process conducted by the United Way of Greater Simcoe * final applications will be processed by the Housing Stability Bank
- To determine eligibility and complete intake application, call the United Way of Greater Simcoe toll free at 1-855-487-5327
- Once eligibility is determined, the Housing Stability Bank will contact eligible applicants to set up an appointment to begin processing their application at a Housing Stability Bank location

By reducing or eliminating life safety risks, these modifications enable children and adults with mobility restrictions to:
- continue living in their homes
- avoid job loss
- participate in their communities
Eligible repairs under the program may include roofs, windows, furnaces, ramps, handrails, chair and bath lifts, height adjustments to countertop and other similar repairs.
Assistance may include but not be limited to: Emergency heat, water, sewage, rental arrears, dental. Eyeglasses, baby supplies, limited assistance with cost of prosthetic Items, other health care items. Limited financial assistance may be available in other exceptional circumstances.

Ontario Works, often called OW, is a program for people in Ontario who are in temporary financial need.
OW can provide money and/or help find a job. Financial need is determined by an Assessment of Eligibility by Ontario Works including review of income, liquid assets and living expenses. Support varies depending upon housing costs and family size.
Assistance may also be provided for:
- drug and dental coverage
- eyeglasses
- hearing aids
- employment start-up benefits
- job search help including resumes and interview skills, independent job searches, training or skills development
- Temporary Care Program - there is financial assistance available for children under the care of a guardian
