A warm evening meal offering a relaxed atmosphere to sit and network with other members in the community

A converted trailer, staffed by 3 volunteers, set up to provide hot soup, fresh bread rolls, and warm beverages, as well as:

• help clients get in touch with shelter organizations
• distribute warming items on cold nights
• provide infromation on community resources for those experiencing homelessness

COVID-19 Important Information: Hours of operation have been reduced to 11 am-5 pm Monday to Sunday. Operating with a takeout window service. Also, clothing donations must be new only - not accepting used clothing at this time.

Street Help / Unit 7 Homeless Services, is a Self-Help organization run primarily by and for persons who are or who have been homeless.

Provides outreach street patrol services to the homeless such as:

• sleeping bags
• back packs
• socks
• seasonal clothing
• Dinner to Go (see details here)
• information on local services for the homeless

Drop-in centre provides:

• computers
• internet
• breakfast
• hot meals
• bottomless coffee & snacks
• safe storage of personal items
• hygiene products when available
• shower facility during agency hours
• advocacy
• referrals to community services
• daily food distribution to homeless individuals

Most staff are persons who are or who have been homeless and offer an environment of peer fellowship with full comprehension of the issues homeless people face on a daily basis

Accepts donations to provide for the Homeless

Drop-in centre for youth who are homeless or at risk of homelessness

• the aim is to be a low-threshold service provider, offering to meet the basic and immediate needs of homeless youth.

Parents Support Group

• For new and expectant parents who get together once a week to provide each other fun and support
• Hot Lunch offered
• Access to grocery supplements such as milk, eggs and yogurt

• referrals to other services for housing, employment, education and Parenting
• safe place to spend the evening between 5 pm-10 pm

• Tuesday Open House Group: for seniors to play shuffleboard, cards, and eat lunch
• Building Blocks for Better Babies: for pregnant mothers and mothers of young children (not sponsored by church)
• Bedford Choir: all ages welcome, ability to read music helpful but not necessary
• Friday Friends: For adults looking for a friendly group with whom they can socialize
• Meat and apple pie sales

• a food bank that is available 3 days a week and in any emergency situation (once per month)

An outreach ministry offering the following programs:

• Community Meal - a free meal offered to anyone in the community in need
• Mom's Baby Cupboard - support mothers and babies by offering free diapers, wipes, creams, formula, baby food and clothing
• Sharing the Warmth - free hats, mitts and scarves are available at a mailbox located outside of St James Church. Winter coats are also available by contacting Janice - text 519-446-2085.

COVID-19 - Providing up-to-date service information for emergency food providers and grocery and meal delivery services.

Provides information on events, organizations and happenings related to food in Chatham-Kent. Information food skills opportunities, community gardens, student nutrition programs, CK Food Strategy and more can be found here. Additionally the CK Meal Calendar and Food Resource can be found on this website as well as an up to date listing on all food banks, soup kitchens, food voucher programs and other community food resources.

A Roman Catholic church offering worship, fellowship, outreach and ministries.

Serve a free community lunch every week. Individuals in need and living within the parish boundaries can receive food vouchers through the Blessed Sacrament/St. Agnes St Vincent de Paul Conference.

COVID-19 - Offer drop in COVID-19 testing every Wednesday and other days by appointment. No health card is required.

Agency assisting those experiencing homelessness in Chatham Kent. Various community events operated, including food and clothing drives. Services available include:

• meal programs
• laundry services
• clothing assistance

Operate as a cooling centre when an extreme heat alert has been issued. The cooling station will be open from 9 am-5 pm. Vulnerable people in need of free transportation to the centre can contact ROCK Missions 519-354-0430 ext 205 and/or NeighbourLink 519-352-5647.

Also operate as a warming shelter when temperatures drop below -15.

Offers a free takeout breakfast to the public every Saturday.

COVID-19: No hot meal programs until further notice. Food pantry stocked at various times throughout the months to ensure service, located at the bottom of the stairs leading to the Church Hall (beside the bus depot)
