- Attend a police stations and speak to the on-duty Staff Sergeant or request a standard Public Complaint form.

Advocates provide services that are free, confidential, follow the patient's requests, and are independent from the hospital, and help patients who have concerns about their care, treatment, or quality of life.
Patients in a facility with an advocate can request help with:
- navigating the hospital system
- resolving concerns and negotiating with hospital staff
- referrals to outside community agencies and resources, if necessary
- making informed decisions
- maintaining responsibility for their wellness and recovery
- being involved in all decisions which affect their care, life and treatment
The role of the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) is to:
- resolve disputes between landlords and tenants through mediation or adjudication
- resolve eviction applications from co-ops
- provide information to landlords and tenants about their rights and responsibilities under the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA)
The LTB's customer service officers process applications, schedule hearings, and provide information to the public about the Residential Tenancies Act. Customer service officers do not provide legal advice.

- liaises with special event coordinators and food vendors to ensure adherence to safe food handling practices at special events within Halton
- provides information, support, and food handler training and certification for businesses and the public on how to handle food safely
- discloses food safety inspection results by posting results at the food premises and online
