Teenage parents are offered assistance in completing their secondary school education and developing parenting, pre-employment and personal life skills.

Grandir ensemble: A parent resource program providing education and support for parents of children. Helping families grow and learn in a happy, healthy, safe environment and allowing children to participate in various activities in the area of sciences, literacy, creativity, etc.

The Women's Health Concerns Clinic at St Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and McMaster University have partnered with Niagara Region Public Health on the study of a free, online, non-medication treatment for postpartum depression.

Niagara Region Public Health has partnered with West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and Niagara Health to offer patients delivering in Niagara the opportunity to meet with a public health nurse before they have their baby. During this appointment, expectant parents can:

• Talk about how they will feed their baby
• Learn about what to expect when they bring their baby home
• Be connected to free programs in their community
• Ask questions about keeping their baby safe and healthy

• Have a healthier pregnancy and birth
• Learn more about your child's development

A home visiting program for individuals under the age of 25 and pregnant for the first time. A personal public health nurse can help support women through their pregnancy and the child's first two years of life.

A public health nurse can help parents:

• Understand how your baby grows and learns
• Work on your own personal goals as a parent
• Connect with programs in the community

Participation is voluntary.

Online prenatal classes cover a variety of topics from pregnancy and birth to newborn care.

Book a one-on-one appointment with a public health nurse with breastfeeding/chestfeeding expertise to discuss questions or concerns about feeding your baby. This may include breastfeeding, chestfeeding, establishingbreastmilk supply, or providing expressed breastmilk to your baby. Appointments may be done by phone, video, or in-person.

Pregnant and new parents with babies up to 18 months of age, who have been feeling depressed, down or anxious may be eligible to participate in a group-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) program.

A public health nurse will teach skills, strategies and tools to help manage depression and anxiety. A workbook/worksheets will be provided to record goals and progress.

A weekly drop-in centre, providing women of all walks of life with a safe, welcoming and dignified environment.

A free and confidential harm reduction program that offers sterile injection and disposal supplies to people who inject drugs.

The following services are available:

• needles and syringes in various sizes
• sharps containers
• ties, filters, alcohol swabs, sterile spoons
• condoms, lubricant, dental dams
• information on safer sex, safer injection
• non-judgemental supportive counselling and referrals
• nursing services in the office and in the van providing HIV, Hepatitis and STI testing, pregnancy tests, vaccines and minor wound care
• Hep C outreach worker is available for support, information and referrals
• Addictions counselor is available in the StreetWorks van
• Beyond the N.O.D. Niagara Overdose Diversion Program
• Opioid Overdose Prevention training and Naloxone (Narcan) distribution
• Consumption and Treatment Services (CTS)
  • A safe place to get information about how to be safe, get connected and use substances supervised by harm reduction staff. Paramedics are onsite to provide immediate intervention in the event of an overdose.

Patients can be referred by a family physician, Niagara Region Public Health or community health centres.
