The BHYC Learn to Sail program offers courses for Youth Sailors (7-17 years) and Adult Sailors (18 years and up)

• program features Sail Canada certified instructors in a safe, fun and active learning environment
• Sailors learn the skills and enter into fun and challenging experiences suited to their skills

Youth Learn To Sail Programs

• offered to participants aged 7 to 17 years old

Adult Learn To Sail Program

• Adult lessons are offered in the Club 420 Dinghy, equipped with Spinnaker and trapeze
• CAN Sail levels can be obtained during the program
• objective is to feel comfortable sailing the points of sail, understand basic sail trim, or advanced sail trim if you already sail, and to feel more comfortable in the event your goal is to purchase a sailboat

Visually Impaired Learn to Sail Program

• Ontario's largest Visually Impaired Learn to Sail Program
• course runs for one full week, usually scheduled in late June, and is entirely led by volunteers
• participants learn the fundamentals of sailing on 30 foot keel boats, seamanship basics, and some basic racing techniques
• the week ends with a race around audible marks

Rental facilities also available

Provide sailing opportunities for people of all ages living with a physical or cognitive disability

• focuses on the Martin 16 sailboat that can be sailed with either a companion instructor in the stern seat or solo by individual sailors
• sailors who want to advance their skills from casual day sailing to racing are taught the fundamentals of sailboat racing under the tutorship of trained instructors

Leagues:

• various age groups and levels include mini-soccer, house league, city rep teams, and camps
• adult leagues
• offers, in partnership with Special Olympics Ontario, the Embracing Ability program, for youth aged 6-14 with, or without, intellectual and/or physical disabilities
• games are played at various parks throughout Burlington

Competitive/High Performance Programs:

• U8 - Adult competitive, OPDL and League 1 teams
• participate in leagues organized through Peel Halton Soccer Association and/or Ontario Soccer (OPDL and League 1)
• full year programming (soccer 3-5 times per week, program dependant)
• qualified coaches

The BSC Pitch soccer domes are indoor facilities located at Sherwood Forest Park, 5270 Fairview St (east of Appleby Line), Burlington

• for groups of up to eight

• coaching expertise that will benefit new paddlers to those seeking world-class racing opportunities

• regatta schedule is established each season which includes local, regional, and international competition opportunities for members
• PaddleAll program for those with disabilities in conjunction with Canoe Kayak Canada

Leagues include:

• Jr. T-Ball for 4-year-olds

Challenger Baseball league for children with cognitive or physical disabilities

• no score is kept
• players are assigned a volunteer buddy to assist, from pushing wheelchairs to helping with batting or protecting players from batted ball
• buddy positions are suitable for high school students to earn Community Involvement hours

Equipment and uniforms provided, players supply own gloves and shoes

The gym is inclusive for all abilities and is equipped with:

• swings (including larger sizes for adult size children and those in wheelchairs)

• will help match a visually impaired person with a guide, and have access to equipment such as competitive racing wheelchairs for other disabilities
• Glen Abbey Community Centre, River Oaks Community Centre, and Lions Valley Park are the primary meeting points for group training
• sanctioned with Athletics Ontario, and Triathlon Ontario
• Promotes and Follows: Long-term Athlete Development Plan, Sport for Life, and Safe & Drug Free Sport
