A free and confidential harm reduction program that offers sterile injection and disposal supplies to people who inject drugs.

  • A safe place to get information about how to be safe, get connected and use substances supervised by harm reduction staff. Paramedics are onsite to provide immediate intervention in the event of an overdose.

Services offered include treatment for Hepatitis C infection, outreach services, peer treatment coaching and individual counselling. Patients can be referred by a family physician, Niagara Region Public Health or community health centres. Childbirth preparation, early parenting and breastfeeding. Topics covered include labour, coping with labour, pain relief options, what to expect after the baby is born, taking care of baby and mom. All clients receive an information guide containing all information covered in class plus additional information on car seat safety, partner tips to help support the woman in labour, local resources, suggested reading list. Classes run monthly in three week sessions. Group and private classes available

Baby Basics Prenatal Classes provides confidential and inclusive programming for all groups. LGBTQ friendly and specific programming and support for teen pregnancy and mothers of all backgrounds and stages of life is offered.

Provides first aid care, immunizations, injections (B12, iron, allergy), wart and skin tag removal, pregnancy tests, sexual health (sexually transmitted infection screening and treatment, contraception), travel consultations, tuberculosis test administering, driver's physical and out of country health visits.

The Women's Health Concerns Clinic at St Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and McMaster University have partnered with Niagara Region Public Health on the study of a free, online, non-medication treatment for postpartum depression.

Niagara Region Public Health has partnered with West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and Niagara Health to offer patients delivering in Niagara the opportunity to meet with a public health nurse before they have their baby. During this appointment, expectant parents can:

• Talk about how they will feed their baby

• Be connected to free programs in their community
• Ask questions about keeping their baby safe and healthy

A home visiting program for individuals under the age of 25 and pregnant for the first time. A personal public health nurse can help support women through their pregnancy and the child's first two years of life.

A public health nurse can help parents:

• Connect with programs in the community

Participation is voluntary.

Book a one-on-one appointment with a public health nurse with breastfeeding/chestfeeding expertise to discuss questions or concerns about feeding your baby. This may include breastfeeding, chestfeeding, establishingbreastmilk supply, or providing expressed breastmilk to your baby. Appointments may be done by phone, video, or in-person.

Pregnant and new parents with babies up to 18 months of age, who have been feeling depressed, down or anxious may be eligible to participate in a group-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) program.

A public health nurse will teach skills, strategies and tools to help manage depression and anxiety. A workbook/worksheets will be provided to record goals and progress.

Provides Aboriginal families healthy opportunities for the development of their children through education, family home visiting, service coordination and referrals. The program ensures that families have access and support, inclusive of early intervention and prevention services. Culturally appropriate and wholistic, the program begins during pregnancy and is carried through the critical years of early childhood education.

Provides food supplements, counselling, support, education, referral to other services and counselling for at-risk pregnant women. Provides group based programming for women and their families who are planning a pregnancy, currently pregnant or have recently given birth.

A privately owned and operated lactation consulting clinic which offers in home consultation.

A bilingual midwifery clinic providing maternal and newborn care throughout pregnancy and up to 6 weeks postpartum. Midwives are on-call 24 hours daily for clients and attend births at home or in hospital. All of the midwives have privileges at the St Catharines hospital.
