Searching for Parent / Child Programs

Provides free opportunities for children from birth to 6 years of age to participate in play and inquiry-based programs.

Families and caregivers will be able to find support, advice, make personal connections and access a network of resources.

Niagara Brighter Futures: A fun and interactive program for families with children age zero to six that promotes healthy living. Topics include: Child development and milestones * Eat healthy play healthy * Winter fun in Canada * Dealing with the holidays * March Break teddy bear picnic * Growing together * Mental health * Home safety * Community resources * Cooking demonstrations/circles * Infant circle * Young authors

Triple P (Positive Parenting Program): An interactive, eight week parking group course offered to parents with children ages 2-12 years.

After School Club: An interactive program for ELKP to grade eight students. Participants can enjoy healthy snacks, crafts, games, outdoor fun and monthly trips to the library. Skill development includes: social * conflict resolution * respect for self and others * taking care of the environment * teamwork * safe food handling * creativity * large motor

Gives preschoolers a head start in their learning through a variety of educational activities. Helps children learn communication, math and reading skills. Snack is provided.

FOR CHILDREN: to play and learn with their parents/caregivers, to explore and experience activities to stimulate brain development, to interact and play with other children.

FOR PARENTS/FAMILIES: to experience drop-in with child(ren) at any time. Parents have a chance to interact with their children, attend seminars and learn parenting tips, networking with other parents, come as a family and share time together, borrow resources from the Family Resource Library and obtain information on other early years services.

FOR CAREGIVERS: to provide an opportunity for children in their care to enjoy play based learning, to obtain resources/information they could use at home, workshops and to network with other child care providers.

COVID-19: Provides child protection services 24/7. Program delivery may be altered to respect safety protocols. The Family Counselling Centre provides virtual counselling sessions, with limited in-person opportunities.

Mandated by the Child and Family Services Act to respond to any concerns regarding the possible abuse or neglect of children through investigation, protection, prevention and treatment programs for children and their families

A prevention/early intervention program which provides Parenting Education, Support and promotes child development in children. Referrals and home visiting services are available for those in need.

Offers regular weekly programs designed for parents and children. Transportation provided upon request. Topics addressed include: healthy habits, cultural teachings, parenting strategies and resources, child development, community kitchen.

Will assist organizations to design and deliver community based, culturally relevant programs that aim to improve the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of off-reserve Indigenous children.

Pre/Post natal program (CPNP): information on pregnancy, nutrition, labour, referrals to midwifery services, care of newborns, breastfeeding support, home visits, vouchers for vitamins, groceries and diapers, Zumba with baby.

Grandir ensemble: A parent resource program providing education and support for parents of children. Helping families grow and learn in a happy, healthy, safe environment and allowing children to participate in various activities in the area of sciences, literacy, creativity, etc.
