Transportation Program - Provides transportation for older adults and people over 18 years of age with disabilities who are unable to drive or travel with conventional transit services for medical appointments, social and educational outings. Transportation available in all 12 local municipalities within Niagara. Long distance travel also possible for medical appointments in Hamilton or Toronto. Drivers use a combination of cars, vans and accessible buses to provide transportation. Phone to register for service or to schedule transportation. Niagara Specialized Transit is only for those customers who are travelling from one municipality to another for a medical appointment, education or employment purposes. trips for other purposes may be permitted based on the capacity of the service. A Customer may be accompanied by a Companion, Personal Care Attendant and/or Service Animal, if the need is identified on the application form and approved by the Eligibility Committee.
The inter-municipal specialized transit service of The Region of Niagara is considered a share ride service. Other customers may be on board during the trip. The route of travel may be altered so another customer can be accommodated. The vehicle may stop and pick up other riders as it travels to a destination. Shared rides lower the cost of the specialized service by increasing productivity.

Volunteer drivers provide transportation rides to medical appointments, banking, shopping, and social activities. In-town and out-of-town rides are available. Rides are based on availability of volunteers and require (5) business days' notice in advance. Potential clients must call the St Catharines office to register. |

Specialized curb-to-curb transportation within the municipal boundaries of Fort Erie is available to those persons that cannot utilize Fort Erie's regular transit service and that meet the Eligibility Criteria.
