Will provide interpreters for various situations, including:

• Medical appointments
• Business meeting
• Giving evidence in court
• Arranging a mortgage
• In crisis in a hospital, shelter, or police station

• Provides an immersion language program/site that houses Sagamok Anishnawbek history and serves as a publishing house for community language resource development
• Offers language sessions through speakers and elders fluent in Anishnaabemowin
• Provides Anishnaabemowin language resources to all age groups, including books, cds, audio videos, newspapers, coloring books, and dictionaries

Accredited and certified by the Canada Translation Bureau, Public Works, Immigration and Refugee Board, and other agencies of the Government of Canada in a variety of specialties including:

• certified Spanish translations, interpretation, and transcriptions
• remote telephone interpreting
• simultaneous and consecutive interpreting in conference or court
• translation of technical web sites, magazines, books and catalogues
• translation of documents required for immigration to Canada such as, driver's license, birth certificates, criminal reference checks, marriage certificates etc.
• FOR TRANSLATION SERVICES leave a detailed message of the services needed, including attached copies of the files requiring certified/regular translations
• FOR INTERPRETING SERVICES leave a detailed description of service required, dates, time and place, conditions required, the subject and related information of the interpreting

Helping Our Newcomers Prepare for Employment/Entrepreneurial Success (HOPES) Program: resettlement stress support, education, skills and experience support

LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada): provides basic English skills in English, upon assessment by YMCA of Greater Toronto --see separate entry

Language Instruction Giving Hope to Trauma Survivors (LIGHTS) Program: alternative language program that provides functional English as a second or additional language (ESL/EAL) instruction to vulnerable newcomers who experience emotional, cognitive, or academic barriers to learning in traditional English classes

Partner Assault Response (PAR)
12 week group education and counselling program on domestic violence and non-abusive ways of resolving conflict

• victims/partners of the offender provided with support including safety planning, referrals to community resources, and information on offender's progress
• group counselling in Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese

Settlement Program
Orientation, needs and eligibility assessments, interpretation and translation; information and referral topics include immigration, issues of concern to refugees and foreign domestic workers, citizenship, social assistance benefits, legal aid, housing, child care, English classes, and education and employment training

Make Islamic resources fully accessible to the Deaf through a variety of services including:

• raising awareness in the community regarding the challenges faced by the Deaf
• approaching organizers to make their events accessible to the Deaf
• arranging for interpreters to be present at local mosques for the translation of sermons and prayers
• arranging for interpreters to be present at festivities (e.g. Eid, Ramadan, Holy night celebrations) as well as Islamic workshops, conferences, and conventions
• setting up Islamic classes with interpreter services - the curriculum addressing the knowledge level of a Deaf audience
• training interpreters on Islamic terms and signs so that they are able to interpret in an Islamic setting and context
• interpreting the Quran into ASL
