Searching for Food Delivery

A non-profit food buying club open to anyone who wants to buy fresh, quality produce. Boxes include local, in-season produce at the peak of its nutritional value when possible. Orders are placed monthly.

Affordable, nutritious meals are delivered to members of the community who are unable to prepare their own food. Seniors, convalescent, and chronically ill individuals may benefit from this program. Hot meals are offered Monday through Friday. Volunteers deliver the meals during the hours of 10:30 to 1 p.m. Frozen meals are delivered once per week on Tuesdays.

A volunteer based, community organization offering a range of humanitarian and emergency services. Local community programs include Transportation, Meals on Wheels, Nutritional Networking, Homeward Bound, Emergency Management, and RespectED (Violence Prevention Program). Offer courses on First Aid and CPR, Swimming and Water Safety.

COVID-19 - Offering the following programs virtually: Little hellos - Seniors, vulnerable peoples, teens can receive a phone call once, twice or three times a week just to chat with someone * Tele-Chat with coffee - via zoom and telephone we connect seniors for some social time, every Tue 10:30 am * Triva - via zoom and telephone organized trivia games every Thu at 10:30 am * Hot meals for seniors - Mon and/or Thu vulnerable people and seniors have an opportunity to receive a hot home made meal delivered to their doorstep. This program is funded by the New Horizons for seniors initiative and the Local United Way just funded us to add meals for a 10 weeks period. The volunteers are also asked to do a visual check on seniors well beings while delivering meals. Ask how they are doing, look for signs of falls, anxiousness and/ or abuse * Gardening assistance - a 7 week program to assist seniors, injured or vulnerable people with maintaining their yards.

COVID-19 - Meals are still being delivered using contactless delivery methods. As such, volunteers will place client meals in a plastic bag to hang on the doorknob or place on a porch surface and knock/call the client as usual. Stepping back 2 metres from the door, the volunteer will wait for the client to retrieve the meal. Delivery wait times may increase as a result of these new measures.

A grocery delivery service for seniors or others who are unable to shop for themselves. Call before 10 am for same day delivery.

Volunteers deliver hot or frozen meals to clients to help meet their nutritional requirements * hot meals delivered at lunch * supper available in some locations

Meals are prepared using home-style foods and traditional recipes, while meeting quality standards * serves most of rural Middlesex County (areas not covered by other services)

Helps older adults and persons with disabilities maintain their independence and quality of life.

Home Help

• a broker service, which matches clients to skilled, self-employed Home Helpers, based on client-identified needs and goals.
• free in-home assessment ensures all client needs are addressed.all assessments are completed by the Home Help Service Coordinator who is a registered healthcare professional.
• affordable rates range from $20-$25 per hour for a variety of services from general housekeeping to personal support and respite.

Frozen Meals

• nutritionally balanced, home-style meals developed by dietitians.
• lactose free, gluten free, minced, and pureed meals are available by request.
• pricing ranges from $2.75 to $7 for single items; savings bundles available.
• free delivery in Chatham-Kent twice monthly.

Client Intervention and Assistance

• provides short-term social work services that support and empower individuals to live independently, with dignity, in the community.
• possible services include 1:1 supports, personal assessments, service coordination, system navigation, and advocacy.
• client directed, confidential, and delivered at no cost.

CareLink Health Transit

• provides accessible, non-urgent medical transportation services.
• trips range from local to out-of-town and may include medical or therapeutic appointments, social activities and other destinations that support the activities of daily living.
• flat rate fares vary based on single destination and 3 hour service window applies.
• additional destinations can be added at a fee of $5 per destination.
• additional fees will be applied to driver wait times in excess of three hours at $20/hour.

Promotes health and independence by providing home delivered, balanced and nutritious meals to people in need. Clients include seniors, people recovering from illness or surgery, and people with disabilities.

Grocery delivery for seniors and others who are unable to shop for themselves. Orders are placed from 9 am-12 noon and the deliveries arrive between 1 pm-3 pm on same day.

Special diets types are available, including diabetic, low salt, or denture soft * frozen meal diets, including regular, vegetarian, and gluten-free are available for sale and can be delivered

2nd Chance Ministry is a Christian outreach ministry to those in our community daily, who are in need of immediate, practical help and/or spiritual assistance.

Assistance may include:

• food vouchers, diapers, clothes, shoes, toiletries, etc.
• help with rent, hydro
• help with dentures, eyeglasses and transportation
• spiritual and emotional support
• Advocacy for help within our community
• Mentoring program is part of the Ministry.
• Accepts and moves furniture items every Wednesday
• Bureaucracy assistance (i.e. help with bankruptcies, evictions, registrations, bill payments, appointments, etc.)

Furniture Donation/Delivery:

• operates primarily on Monday
• includes items such as couches and mattresses (call for details)
• will pick up donations or deliver to those in need (Windsor, Tecumseh and St. Clair Beach only)

Community based services including referrals to food assistance and visits to those in need.

• conducts home visits and needs assessment and will issue vouchers for basic requirements such as clothing, household goods, furniture, and occasionally beds
• the vouchers are used like cash at the resale stores
• accepts donations of furniture and offers pick up for large items (must schedule)
• will deliver food to those unable to pick up
• operates summer camps and sponsorship for needy children
• visitation and social justice advocacy also for those in hospitals, nursing homes, night shelters, orphanages, prisons, etc.
• accepts holiday food donations also during the holidays

Non-profit provider of home health care services including: homemaking, personal care, assisted living, adult day programs, respite, assurance services, EasyRide transportation, Home Help, Meals on Wheels, Dining for Seniors, wellness and exercise and foot care.

Highly trained volunteer ground based and marine search and rescue team with Command and Control vehicle. Works with Emergency Management, Fire, Police and municipalities. Meal deliveries for Huron-Perth Meals on Wheels - on as needed basis.

* An in-home assessment and custom care plan will be developed prior to service initiation
