Offer pregnancy, labour, birth and post partum care for women and their newborns.

Provides birth and postpartum Doula services, as well as placenta encapsulation and birthing tub rentals. Also offers childbirth education classes, fitness classes, informational / DIY workshops, and a wellness shop filled with natural and locally made products for mother and baby.

A free, voluntary program for expecting parents, and families with children. Provides support to parents and children from birth until the transition to school. Services include prenatal support, a follow-up phone call after a child's birth, home visits and parenting support from a public health nurse.

Offer counselling services for birth control, sexually transmitted infection, blood-borne infection and sexual health

• Child's growth and development Visit any one of 15 drop-in programs throughout Lambton County to speak to a Public Health Nurse about breastfeeding support/infant child nutrition, newborn care, parenting and growth & development. Prenatal education is ideal for those having babies for the first time or for those who would like a refresher. Knowing what to expect during pregnancy and how to manage once the baby is born are all part of prenatal education. Instructor is a public health nurse, who will provide information, to help make decisions with your health-care provider.

Prenatal education is available through interactive Zoom classes. 2023 classes are as follows:

Dedicated to helping children and youth in coping and adapting to life's challenges, and promoting the well being of infants, children, and youth who are experiencing mental health related difficulties. Work with parents and the community to provide integrated early intervention, prevention, and non-residential treatment services. All supports provided free of charge to children and youth from birth through age 18 and their families.

Works with families to promote the development of the child and find ways to deal with the challenges parents face by sharing ideas and giving support.

• Home Visiting Program - uses a family centered model that ensures pregnant women and families with children up to 6 years old on Aamjiwnaang First Nation have access to supports that reflect their values, priorities, strengths, and preferences.
• Breastfeeding Buddies - a Mom-to-Mom Breastfeeding support Program. Trained volunteers are matched with breastfeeding moms.
• Head Start Drop-In - focuses on parent and child interactions for children up to the age of 6 years old (older siblings are welcome to join).
• New Parents group - for expectant parents and parents with children 0-6 months old. Topics are related to new parents to be and parents with newborns. Topics may include: Prenatal Classes, Breastfeeding, Making Moss Bags; Memory Bears; Infant Massage, Baby Moccasins, Baby Food Making, etc.
• Fathers group - activities for fathers, grandfathers and male caregivers with children up to 6 years old. Topics vary. Activities usually include the children.
• Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder supports - The Health Centre partners with Union of Ontario Indians and Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre to provide FASD resources. Supports are available for pregnant women dealing with addictions to alcohol and/or drugs or have a child with FASD

The Sexual Health Clinic will remain available for urgent needs, including dispensing birth control, sexually transmitted infection treatment (STI), pregnancy options counselling, and emergency contraception. Clients are required to call in advance to discuss their needs with a nurse prior to visiting Lambton Public Health. Clients will not be seen on a drop-in basis. Call 519-383-8331 ext. 3547.

Canadian Prenatal Nutrition program for pregnant women aimed at reducing the risk of having a infants born at an unhealthy weight, support breastfeeding and overall health of mother and child.

A public health nurse and public health dietitian provide education surrounding healthy pregnancy and caring for infants/young children. Food coupons are available for those that attend groups and a nutritious snack is provided. Bus coupons for the city of Chatham group participants are available.
