Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+)-- assistance with emergency expenses related to the incident, including home safety, accommodation, meals, transportation, basic necessities, dependent care costs, counselling, traditional Indigenous health services, cellular phones, vision care, dental care, aids for victims with disabilities, interpretation services, crime scene cleanup, government/medical documents and funeral expenses * additional assistance for victims of human trafficking includes storage locker, tattoo removal, and treatment at a recovery facility * no direct reimbursement to victims for support listed above * financial support also available for victims who sustained serious physical injuries during a crime and for parents of child homicide victims and spouses of homicide victims

Offers safe, timely and supportive response to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.

A team of doctors and nurses are dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients who have experienced a recent sexual or domestic assault, 24/7. This service is available to all individuals.

Provides immediate counselling to male and female sexual assault victims up to the age of 18 and their families; Member agency of Support Services Network for Male Survivors in Ontario

Services available include:

• Family violence services, referrals, mental health support
• Support for family members of individuals struggling with substance abuse, mental illness in the family, witness to domestic violence, grief, bullying and abuse

• Alternative Justice program - facilitates pre-charge diversion through development of client healing plans, has client intakes, referrals, community service arrangements, advocacy and case management

24-hour helpline and walk-in crisis supports connect people with counsellors who understand the complexities of woman abuse * provides support to women affected by woman abuse, as well as concerned family members, friends, or neighbours

Counsellors provide immediate crisis support, safety planning, and ongoing support and education * callers given information about services offered by Women's Rural Resource Centre and throughout the community * referrals provided where appropriate

Provides the following core services as defined by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services:

Crisis Services

• STAT (Short Term Assessment and Treatment) offers immediate intervention for children, youth and their families who are experiencing a current crisis. These crisis situations include serious risk of harm to self or others, recent traumatic event, self-harm behavior, and severe emotional difficulties/behavioral problems. The primary role of the worker is to provide time-limited services to stabilize the situation and determine the need for further service.

Counselling and Therapy Services

• Includes a series of planned inter-related interventions focused on reducing the severity of and/or remedying the emotional, social, behavioral, and self-regulation problems of children and youth ages 0 to 18 years of age. Services are provided within the context of the family, culture and community and can be delivered in a range of settings.

Door of Hope Walk in Clinic (Brief Services)

• Focuses on reducing the severity of and/or remedying the emotional, social and behavioral and self-regulation problems of children and youth. Provides quick access to a single therapeutic session to address an immediate non crisis need. Children/youth and/or their families may come to the clinic without an appointment during walk-in clinic hours. Appointments are available on a first come-first serve basis.

Family/Caregiver Capacity Building and Support

• Family members may receive services where their participation supports the treatment plan of the referred child or youth. These services enhance the family's ability to support and effectively respond to their child or youth's mental health needs.

Specialized Consultation and Assessment Services

• Designed to provide advice in the assessment, diagnosis, prognosis and/or treatment of a child or youth with identified mental health needs. Children and youth may only receive a specialized consultation or assessment as a component of their individualized treatment plan.

Intensive Treatment Services

• Targeted to children and youth who have been diagnosed with mental health problems that impair their functioning in some or many areas. Many of these children/youth will require intensive intervention for a defined period of time or periodically throughout their lifespan to maintain functioning in home, school and/or community. Intensive services include: residential services * community based day treatment services * Autism transitional classroom

The Domestic Violence Program provides

• medical treatment and emotional support to the victim of domestic violence
• documentation of medical findings such as physical injuries
• photographic documentation of injuries in the event the victim chooses to take legal action
• risk assessment and safety planning
• referral to community agencies including the Women's Centre and counselling services
• follow-up by the domestic violence coordinator to help victims with any problems or concerns

The Sexual Assault Program provides

• care and treatment to female, male and children of any age
• medical treatment and emotional support for the victim of sexual assault
• collecting and recording evidence of the assault
• testing, information and counselling for pregnancy
• testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
• follow-up medical care and referral to community agencies

COVID-19 - The CKSACC business office is currently closed. Support and Advocacy Workers are taking appointments by telephone. The 24 hour Crisis Line is still in operation as well: 519-354-8688. Women wanting to access support can phone the Crisis Line to be referred to a Support and Advocacy Worker. Women who have accessed services in the past (and are looking at returning), or are seeking new services are asked to call the Crisis Line to set up an appointment.

Short term and long term counselling to victims of sexual assault.

Provides 24 hour crisis line and 24 hour accompaniment to Kent Sexual Assault Treatment Centre.

Aboriginal Health Access Centre providing integrated services for Indigenous people, families and communities * health professionals assess and treat non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses * health promotion, traditional healing, mental health and addiction services provided * dental clinic * referrals to other local health services and personal development groups available on and off reserves * culturally safe, accessible services that combine traditional Indigenous and Western medical practices

Offers fast access to medication-assisted therapy for both alcohol and opioid use disorders. Services include:

• brief support/referral for individuals not currently connected to addiction recovery services and resources
• Immediate access to an addictions assessment, a counselor and a doctor
• treatment plans based upon opiate replacement therapy / approved drug therapies and relief from withdrawal symptoms
• Home detox
• Work with hospital emergency rooms to get treatment for opioid and alcohol dependence illness without delays
• Relapse prevention program and ongoing access to services

A mobile program for at-risk youth that demonstrate a variety of risk factors including those who are in conflict with the law and/or have been sentenced and at risk to reoffend and/or are at a higher risk of criminal/violent behaviour and poorer outcomes, reside in a high needs community, have multiple risk factors and challenges such as: substance abuse issues, mental health issues, familial issues, housing, unemployment, poverty, education etc.

• can include families and other services providers through a wraparound approach to service coordination
• staff will also assist youth in navigating systems to enhance opportunities to access services whether those are mental health and addictions, health services or financial support and housing
• staff will work beside youth to address the basic issues/needs that can present as barriers to participating and engaging in school/work/leisure, which ultimately promote a sense of inclusion, engagement and overall wellbeing

Counseling

• Counseling is available to female and male survivors of sexual victimization
• Services to children who are victimized are coordinated with the Children's Aid Society.
• Counseling support is also available for non-offending significant others. .

Public Education

• participate in opportunities to educate the community on the realities of sexual violence, as well as its impact, and to implement initiatives that will reduce sexual violence in our community.

The OPP MHRU is a collaborative program put forth by the Ontario Provincial Police and the Community Crisis Centre at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare to address the gap in the continuum of existing crisis services.

• formed to provide an integrated community based response to the target population
• vulnerable individuals who have a mental health related illness and /or a substance abuse problem who are in severe distress and often lack supports in the community
• the goal of the program is to divert these target groups from the criminal justice system and /or the hospital emergency department whenever possible by facilitating access to community services and supports.

Focuses on activities supporting community healing and wellness, and crisis intervention. Activities include:

• Sharing circles
• Traditional and western peer support counseling services
• Treatment referrals
• Program referrals
• Court based support services
• Culturally based healing and wellness workshops

The Healing and Wellness Coordinator acts as an advocate for community members dealing with various social service agencies.

Assertive Community Treatment program (ACT)

• community-based, recovery model of care for individuals who have severe and persistent mental illness
• reaches out to clients where and when they need help (in home/community)
• inter-professional team of healthcare workers including psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, therapeutic recreation and vocational rehab therapists

Care for people of any age, gender identity or sexual orientation who have experienced domestic violence and/or sexual assault * various options are provided for care of each individual depending on the nature of the assault and time since it occurred
