Registered audiologists serve both children and adults. In-depth hearing tests are performed. Hearing related counseling for clients and their families and consultation with involved caregivers is also provided.

Audiology Chatham- Kent Clinic:

• Hearing Testing - determines if there is hearing loss, the extent and what kind
• Middle ear testing- to rule out hearing loss related to reasons like ear infections or excessive wax buildup
• Hearing aid prescription/evaluation- to discuss the use of hearing aids, provide information and prescribe a hearing aid
• Hearing aid dispensing/selling hearing aids
• Hearing aid re-check
• Central Auditory Processing testing- for children between the ages of seven to thirteen, who may be experiencing learning difficulties
• Otoacoustic Emissions testing- to test the reliability and function of the cochlea (organ of hearing)

The Ontario Infant Hearing Program:

• Identifies infants who are born deaf or hard of hearing or who are at risk of hearing loss in early childhood
• Provides parents of deaf or hard of hearing infants with the services needed to develop communication and language skills

Augmented Communication Clinic

Augmentative Communication Services (ACS) General Level Clinic helps children, youth and their families find ways to communicate. The Ministry of Health Assistive Devices Program authorizes Children's Treatment Centre to provide appropriate ACS services to children and youth with home based complex communication needs. Eligibility is restricted to children aged 19 or younger, but clients of the program may be monitored for ongoing communication needs and remain on the case load if needed. Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapists and Communication Disorders Assistants all with additional training in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). Together the team supports children, youth and their families who have communication challenges through the prescription and customization of AAC devices, training and consultation in all environments over time. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Clinic Form and Principal Referral Form are to be completed with parent's consent by the school principle and submitted by FAX, mail or email the forms to mball@CTC-CK.com.

A non-profit treatment centre for children who require support with speech and language, audiology, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

Provides continuing, medically complex and specialized services to individuals who have long-term illnesses or disabilities that typically require skilled, technology-based care not available at home or in long-term care facilities.Rehabilitation - Core Programs:

Provides non-medical assistance with activities of daily living in the home. Assists with daily activities such as personal grooming, transferring, dressing, bathing, meals, specialized procedures such as transfers, vent/trach care.

Currently have 3 supportive housing programs, with a total of 18 fully accessible and 11 partially accessible apartments with round-the-clock non-medical care available to assist tenants with all Activities of Daily Living including but not limited to, personal care routines, hygiene, feeding, transfers, medication administration and meal preparation.

Regular visits and phone calls to check on the health and safety of older adults, adults with disabilities, and adults with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias who live alone * screened volunteers listen, talk, and help isolated people stay in contact with the outside world * general security check includes a short telephone call at a scheduled

Home Help Program:

The Home Help program is designed to help isolated seniors, seniors recovering from surgery, frail seniors and those persons with permanent physical disabilities, who do not have access to assistance, remain safely in their home by providing light housekeeping services

Assistance includes:

• light housekeeping which could include floor mopping, dishes, vacuuming and dusting
• laundry services which could also include folding and putting away
• light bathroom and kitchen clean-up
• making beds could include changing linens
• grocery shopping

Eye glass program

• purchase glasses for the needy
• used glasses are also collected and sent over seas
• assists with the needs of the blind and sight impaired
• local club also involved with Diabetes Association, and persons with a hearing loss

Organizes and promotes two teams (different age groups including a Junior program) in the basketball league * provides equipment and coaching * basketball season runs from Sept to May
