Educational clinic for diagnosis and treatment of learning problems.

COVID-19: All programs are currently being offered online except for the social skills program which will return when in-person programming resumes.

One-to-one tutoring for elementary aged children using individualized programs.

SOAR - a secondary school transition program in a small group focusing on learning strategies, compensatory strategies, and self-advocacy skills.

Social Skills program for elementary aged children. Group sessions (11 hours per session) assist children in the development of social skills and social problem-solving strategies so that they can interact successfully with others.

Advocacy, information and referral are available with availability of a resource library of books, videos, children's books, information meetings, and newsletter.

Comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessments for students and community members 18+ including:

• psychological testing (intelligence, memory, emotional, and projective testing)
• neuropsychological testing
• testing for learning disabilities
• attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
• group therapy

Children and Adolescent 6-17 yrs:

• comprehensive psychological, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological assessments including:
  • learning disorders, attention deficit and hyper activity disorder, mood and anxiety disorders
  • diagnostic clarification, treatment recommendations, educational accommodations

Hockey program for individuals with special learning needs * weekly games for each division * hockey school program Wednesday evenings * jerseys and socks provided, other equipment available through loan program * Awards Banquet at the end of the season

Parent participating nonprofit organization * all coaches, junior referees, timekeepers and executive are volunteers * loaner equipment available if needed

Meetings/Webinars held throughout year with professional guest speakers (including psychologists and special education teachers), discussion-based evenings around relevant topics (such as family dynamics and school communication)

Provides support, advice and coaching to parents with children having learning disabilities * provides information about diagnostics and treatment plans, understanding assessment reports and IEPs, and communication with schools

Short-term residential elementary and secondary school for pupils with severe learning disabilities * individualized academic and social program * pupils are gradually re-integrated into an appropriate school program in their home community within 1-2 years

This an online Support group for parents whose children may have developmental or physical disabilities, mental health issues, learning or speech difficulties, ADHD * once a year we run a Mom's Getaway Weekend at Stevenson Camp near Dorchester.

Lead agency for Service Coordination Brant which provides coordinated service planning to families of children and youth with multiple service needs. Service Coordination ensures there is a clearly identified staff for each family to lead their service plan and support services working together to meet each family's unique needs

Lead agency for the Ontario Autism Program - Urgent Response Service - short-term supports for children registered with the Ontario Autism Program who are experiencing new or worsening high-risk behaviours

Manages the Community Information Brant, Haldimand & Norfolk database www.info-bhn.ca containing information on local community programs and services

Tutoring in academic areas that include English, mathematics, ESL, study skills and strategies.

Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation services for a range of mental health, behavioural, and learning difficulties for children and adolescents.

Opportunity to share information and common concerns ; public awareness of issues and challenges for people with learning disabilities ; support of legislative initiatives. Programs and services include:

• free information for children, their caregivers, and adults affected by Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and learning disabilities

A residential demonstration school for students with severe learning disabilities that also provides in-service teacher education and consultative services to school boards

Main Services:

School program

• an intensive and specialized program focusing on cognitive/language development for students with severe learning disabilities at elementary and secondary levels
• goals and objectives are set in all courses and there is a variety of credit courses offered in the secondary program
• assistive technology strategies are emphasized
• initial consultations initiated by student's home school

Residence program (Mon-Fri)

• a structured program including individual and group counselling, instruction in social skills and recreational activities for students with severe learning disabilities

In-service program

• designed for Ontario educators only
• one day workshops offered on learning disabilities and related topics that vary annually (see website in September for new list)
• one day visiting teacher programs allowing teachers to tour school and classes

Resources Services program

• designed for Ontario school boards to assist them in developing programs for students with learning disabilities
• educational assessments for students who are potential candidates for Trillium program

The Trillium Demonstration School serves as a catchment area inclusive of southern, central and mid-northern Ontario

Provides resources, services, information and advocacy for people with learning disabilities and/or ADHD, parents, teachers and other professionals * encourages research

Assists people with dyslexia, their families and the communities that support them by:
* providing support, up-to-date information and resources (website, webinars, training opportunities, event outreach)
* creating public awareness of dyslexia
* responding to general public inquiries related to dyslexia
* maintaining an online directory of professionals, clinics and schools providing services to people with dyslexia and their families
* presenting an annual conference
