Offers financial assistance to repair deficiencies and improve accessibility for eligible households in need.

• Provide one-time assistance in the form of a 10-year forgivable loan, which is secured by registration on title, for home repairs to a maximum of $20,000 per household.
• Provides one-time assistance in the form of a grant, which does not require repayment, for accessibility improvements to a maximum of $5,000 per household.

​The renovations program helps low to moderate-income families repair their homes to improve energy efficiency or accessibility.

Eligible individuals can receive up to $50,000 max in a forgivable loan and up to $5000 max in the form of a grant for accessibility repairs.

Examples of repairs include:

• Chair and bath lifts
• Doors and windows
• Electrical systems
• Foundations, roofs, walls, floors and ceilings
• Handrails
• Heating systems
• Height adjustments to countertops
• Plumbing
• Ramp
• Roof replacement
• Toilet replacement with low-flush to a dual-flush toilet

Financial assistance to protect basements from flooding including:

• 50% of the total cost (up to a maximum of $1060) to disconnect the foundation drain from the sanitary sewer
• 80% of the total cost (up to a maximum of $800) to install a backwater valve on the internal plumbing system of home

Information and applications for London and Middlesex Housing Corporation units, nonprofit housing, cooperative housing, subsidy, rent supplement program and rent-geared-to-income programs

Reviews application and explains the different housing options that are available then forwards application directly to the housing provider selected * maintains a Common Waitlist System * housing providers have a variety of handicapped accessible units

Ontario Renovates Program - Program offers financial assistance for low to moderate income households to increase accessibility of their dwelling through minor modifications and adaptations * funding is limited * applications accepted on a first come, first served basis until funds are depleted

Assists people with disabilities to ease their daily living, accessibility and employment issues

Social and recreational programs * independent living services based in Sarnia * summer camp offered in Geneva Park, Orillia

Assistive Devices Program - Assists adults with disabilities with funding for the purchase, repair, and maintenance of a wide variety of mobility or assistive devices such as wheelchairs and scooters

Home and Vehicle Modification Program - Financial assistance toward the cost of required home or vehicle modifications for eligible Ontario residents of any age who have a long-term physical disability

AccessAbility Advantage (A+) - accessible design expertise in the development or redesign of residential buildings, small businesses and organizations * offers document conversion, internal and external communications, policy development to meet accessibility standards

Employment Services - Employment services including assessments, training, job placement and on-the-job support to help people return to work

Financial assistance towards the cost of basic home or vehicle modifications and is intended for permanent Ontario residents with a substantial mobility impairment

By reducing or eliminating life safety risks, these modifications enable children and adults with mobility restrictions to:

• continue living in their homes
• avoid job loss
• participate in their communities
  

Offers financial assistance available to homeowners in low to moderate households who meet income eligibility and are in need of energy efficiency upgrades as well as accessibility upgrades for persons with disabilities.

Eligible repairs under the program may include roofs, windows, furnaces, ramps, handrails, chair and bath lifts, height adjustments to countertop and other similar repairs.

Consulations to help manage living space and furniture discussing ageing in home and other options. Discussions based on ergonomics, safety and mobility in home with individuals and any support staff. Creating functional spaces that support life transitions. Consultations can be in person or online.

Provides financial assistance to low-to-moderate income households needing upgrades for safety, energy efficiency or accessibility. Provides up to $15,000 per household in 10-year forgivable loans, and up to $5,000 grants for households needing accessibility upgrades.

Eligible repairs could include:

• heating systems including furnace replacement

• roofs, vents, louvres
• electrical systems
• plumbing, toilet replacement, water heaters
• septic systems, well water, well drilling

Accessibility modifications could include but are not limited to:

Ontario Renovates is a component of the Ontario Priorities Housing Initiative program and is being delivered by the Region of Waterloo on behalf of the Provincial government.

One section of the program provides qualified low to moderate-income households with forgivable loans to assist with housing repairs as well as housing modifications to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities.

The other section of the program provides a forgivable loan, to homeowners, to assist with the cost of building a legal secondary apartment suite in their home, and renting it at an affordable rental rate to qualified tenants.

Program offers financial assistance to low to moderate income families to:

• repair their home to bring to acceptable standards while improving the energy-efficiency of the unit
  
• increase accessibility of their unit through modifications and adaptation

Supports for older adults and adults with disabilities

• helps people remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible

Provides free home assessments and recommendations to help seniors remain safe and independent in their homes

• falls prevention education to clients and families

• 'Wellness Guest Speaker' can also be requested

Programs include:

• Housing Loan Program - assists Six Nations members in obtaining housing loans for new or renovation/repair construction purposes
  
• Approved Lender Loan (Bank) Program - provides Six Nations members with the option of obtaining for an on reserve home from a financial institution
  
• Accessibility Program - provides loans for seniors and/or physically disabled Six Nations members
  
• Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP) - federally-funded program that addresses mandatory repairs for structurally damaged homes and for health and safety reasons
  
• Housing Inspections - inspections for new house construction, repairs, additions or to inspect prior to purchase
  
• Rental Properties - 1 to 3 bedroom units for rent
  
• Commercial Properties - a portfolio of commercial buildings developed to provide suitable infrastructure for Council projects, community services, and private enterprise
  
• Sanitation Incentive Program - assists Six Nations members in obtaining safe and environmentally friendly septic systems, cisterns and wells

Volunteers build custom-designed solutions and modification to help meet the daily needs of people with mobility issues and to maintain independence to the greatest extent possible. Projects are taken on if there is no commercial solution available or the cost of a commercial solution is prohibitive.

Provides funding to eligible applicants for basic home and/or vehicle modifications which enables children and adults with mobility restrictions to continue living in their homes, avoid job loss, and participate fully in their communities.

Conductive Education -- for people with neurological motor disorders; physical rehabilitation and education to train the brain and the body
