A social retail enterprise which receives donations of new and gently used building materials, home furnishings, appliances, and the like. Items are sold to the public at affordable prices. Net proceeds of the ReStore are utilized to offset all operational costs of the HFHSL affiliate. Donation pick-up can be arranged including some Kitchen and other Deconstruction services.

Eligible individuals can receive up to $50,000 max in a forgivable loan and up to $5000 max in the form of a grant for accessibility repairs.

A source of inexpensive building related material to make home improvements more affordable.

Accepts donations of new and used building materials.

Financial assistance to protect basements from flooding including:

• 50% of the total cost (up to a maximum of $1060) to disconnect the foundation drain from the sanitary sewer
• 80% of the total cost (up to a maximum of $800) to install a backwater valve on the internal plumbing system of home

Up to $5000 in rebates for insulation, air sealing, new windows/doors, water heaters, boilers, furnaces and home energy assessments.

Sells new and used materials donated by businesses and individuals for the purpose of supporting Habitat for Humanity in building affordable homes. Donated materials include appliances, kitchens, home furnishings, furniture, building supplies (plumbing, electrical, flooring), and a variety of other goods including:

• electronic waste (recycles anything that uses electricity)
• medical equipment (commodes, wheelchairs, hospital beds, stair lifts, etc.)

Donations can be dropped off (call ahead for donation criteria) or picked up by request. For donation pick up:

• items must be in garage or driveway
• appliance pick up includes working or non-working major appliances (fridge, stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher, freezer)
• also offers kitchen removal (salvage crew will remove renovation materials)

Information and applications for London and Middlesex Housing Corporation units, nonprofit housing, cooperative housing, subsidy, rent supplement program and rent-geared-to-income programs

Reviews application and explains the different housing options that are available then forwards application directly to the housing provider selected * maintains a Common Waitlist System * housing providers have a variety of handicapped accessible units

Ontario Renovates Program - Program offers financial assistance for low to moderate income households to increase accessibility of their dwelling through minor modifications and adaptations * funding is limited * applications accepted on a first come, first served basis until funds are depleted

Assists people with disabilities to ease their daily living, accessibility and employment issues

Social and recreational programs * independent living services based in Sarnia * summer camp offered in Geneva Park, Orillia

Assistive Devices Program - Assists adults with disabilities with funding for the purchase, repair, and maintenance of a wide variety of mobility or assistive devices such as wheelchairs and scooters

Home and Vehicle Modification Program - Financial assistance toward the cost of required home or vehicle modifications for eligible Ontario residents of any age who have a long-term physical disability

AccessAbility Advantage (A+) - accessible design expertise in the development or redesign of residential buildings, small businesses and organizations * offers document conversion, internal and external communications, policy development to meet accessibility standards

Employment Services - Employment services including assessments, training, job placement and on-the-job support to help people return to work

Financial assistance towards the cost of basic home or vehicle modifications and is intended for permanent Ontario residents with a substantial mobility impairment

• continue living in their homes
• avoid job loss

Consulations to help manage living space and furniture discussing ageing in home and other options. Discussions based on ergonomics, safety and mobility in home with individuals and any support staff. Creating functional spaces that support life transitions. Consultations can be in person or online.

The ReStore sells new and gently used building materials and household supplies.

DeConstruction: Habitat has a team of experienced volunteers that will dismantle homes, buildings, or parts of buildings for the purpose of salvaging supplies - ie. kitchens, bathrooms, bricks, beams, trim, etc.

E-waste Collection: bring in your old and used electronics for FREE disposal. Will recycle all electronics which helps to raise funds for Habitat such as lights, fans, computers, fans, clocks, and so on (items with refidgerant are not accepted).

Charitable donation receipts are offered for donations valued at over $100.

Conservation programs for home and for business designed to help manage electricity use and save money.

Habitat ReStore accepts donations of good condition used and new building materials, appliances and furniture. Open to the public. All items may be purchased. Continuous fundraising project of Habitat for Humanity * E-waste recycling.

• electrical systems
• plumbing, toilet replacement, water heaters
• septic systems, well water, well drilling

Accessibility modifications could include but are not limited to:

Ontario Renovates is a component of the Ontario Priorities Housing Initiative program and is being delivered by the Region of Waterloo on behalf of the Provincial government.

One section of the program provides qualified low to moderate-income households with forgivable loans to assist with housing repairs as well as housing modifications to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities.

The other section of the program provides a forgivable loan, to homeowners, to assist with the cost of building a legal secondary apartment suite in their home, and renting it at an affordable rental rate to qualified tenants.
