Provides free summary legal advice and legal representation, referrals, community development, public legal education, and law reform initiatives in poverty law.
- The Legal Centre is serving only one client at a time currently, due to COVID protocols. Those with appointments take precedence over walk-ins.
- Clients attending in person at the office or satellites must wear a properly fitted face mask, maintain social distance and use hand sanitizer before and after visit.
- The Legal Centre is available to clients and the public via telephone to provide free summary legal advice and legal education.
Provides free summary legal advice and legal representation, referrals, community development, public legal education, and law reform initiatives in poverty law.
- Areas in which summary advice and legal representation are made include employment insurance, social assistance (Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program), Canada Pension Plan, tenant's rights, Workplace Safety and Insurance, employment law including Employment Standards, Ontario Human Rights and some consumer law issues.
- Also assists with some seniors issues (Old Age Security, Powers of Attorney, etc) and some Indigenous issues.
