Emergency Disaster Service - Volunteer action and relief projects when disaster strikes

Food Bank/Family/Individual Emergency Assistance - Assists people in need with food and other related items. Call to make an appointment to access food bank and other emergency assistance

Financial Management Program - Offers financial management services for Ontario Disability and Ontario Works clients who are unable to manage their own financial matters

Newborn Program - An emergency gift layette parcel for newborns leaving hospital. Includes outfit, diapers, wipes, blanket as available. Mothers of newborns receive information about additional help after leaving the hospital.

Referral Services - Referrals to other community programs and services as appropriate

Summer Camp - for children

Centre provides a friendly drop in environment offering nourishment, social interaction with community members and a variety of different programs (visit website for more details on programming).

• Surplus food is obtained from farmers, gardeners, grocers, bulk stores, bakers, and homemakers

The Abundance Project is a community based organization focused on promoting healthy eating, sustainable growing practices and food preparation skills.

• Community lunch - Monthly free lunch for anyone in the community. Volunteers prepare a variety of healthy and nutritious hot and cold dishes for Warkworth residents. A speaker from regional social service agencies makes a short presentation after the meal and is available for questions.

Green Wood Coalition is a street-level, charitable organization that uses a community model of caring to walk alongside people living with poverty, mental illness, substance dependency and other disability.

Services offered include:

• A weekly Community Dinner at St John's Anglican Church (33 Pine Street North, Port Hope). Intent is to build relationships between individuals who are well-off and those who face daily struggles with poverty and homelessness. An outreach Nurse Practitioner is available at the weekly dinner meet with with individuals in need.
