Promotes increased awareness and respect for persons with learning disabilities (LDs) among the community at large, professional groups and relevant educational, social, recreational, medical, legal and vocational organizations

• provides support, guidance, resource materials and opportunities for sharing of information and concerns
• advocates for research endeavours in the field of learning disabilities and for legislative initiatives that will benefit individuals with learning disabilities

Sunshine Day Camp Social Skills program: camp for children age 7 to 14 years of age who have a learning disability and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

• aims to provide an inclusive childcare experience and providing programming with the goal of developing social skills in a safe, fun environment
• runs from early July to late August in three 2-week sessions
• offers a strong ratio of 1:5 counsellors to campers

Sunshine Day Camp

• unique, small-ratio camp specializing in care for children aged 7-12 with ADHD and/or learning disabilities
• fun, safe and inclusive camp atmosphere with a focus on the development of social skills through interactive activities, games, and peer leadership
• activities, field trips and special guests for our campers

Neurological rehabilitation

• one-on-one treatment
• blocks of 60, 45 or 30 minutes
• Orthopedic injuries
• Sensory motor neuro-rehabilitation for learning disabilities
• Vestibular rehabilitation (offered by both physiotherapists and a chiropractor)

Demonstration School:

• curriculum and residential program for students with severe learning disabilities (one year program)

Provincial School:

• resource services and curriculum and residential program for deaf, deafblind, blind and low vision students

Francophone association for parents of dyslexic children and other learning disabilities

• provides information to parents and professionals about learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysorthographia, dyspraxia, dysphrasia, attention-deficit disorder (ADD)/attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD))
• teaches and supports parents and francophone educators
• encourages early detection of learning disabilities in order to assure that each child has the tools to succeed
• informs about the symptoms linked to the different forms and levels of dyslexia and attention deficit with or without hyperactivity
• explains the different teaching strategies and adaptive methods that can be used to help students at risk
• advocate for the participation, engagement of parents in their child's education

• short and long-term residential treatment for young men in the Ottawa area
• using a behaviourally-based treatment of those with emotional, social or behavioural problems without limitation to specific profiles or exclusion
• specialized treatment plans for each resident which will ensure their comfort, security, personal growth and optimal treatment gains

Adaptive Daily Living:

• offers individuals 18 years and over the opportunity to acquire life, social, vocational, leisure and community integration skills
• serves a fixed number of individuals who benefit from intensive training in all of the above areas, along with direct job placement and coaching places of future employment
• host Family Programs for adults with behavioral challenges, serves adults with a wide variety of needs, in a consistent structured manner, individualized day program with full supervision in various community-based programs, including exercise program, volunteering, job coaching, life skills, cooking, etc

Achievement Program:

• Semi-independent living program for young men with a developmental delay
• incorporates one staff to three young men
• direct support for the facilitation and acquisition of life skills that promote healthy semi-independent living with greater independence

Towed water sports for people with a disability offered by trained, professional instructors and coaches

Assists people with dyslexia, their families and the communities that support them by:
* providing support, up-to-date information and resources (website, webinars, training opportunities, event outreach)

* maintaining an online directory of professionals, clinics and schools providing services to people with dyslexia and their families
* presenting an annual conference

A residential demonstration school for students with severe learning disabilities that also provides in-service teacher education and consultative services to school boards

Main Services:

School program

• an intensive and specialized program focusing on cognitive/language development for students with severe learning disabilities at elementary and secondary levels
• goals and objectives are set in all courses and there is a variety of credit courses offered in the secondary program
• assistive technology strategies are emphasized
• initial consultations initiated by student's home school

Residence program (Mon-Fri)

• a structured program including individual and group counselling, instruction in social skills and recreational activities for students with severe learning disabilities

In-service program

• designed for Ontario educators only
• one day workshops offered on learning disabilities and related topics that vary annually (see website in September for new list)
• one day visiting teacher programs allowing teachers to tour school and classes

Resources Services program

• designed for Ontario school boards to assist them in developing programs for students with learning disabilities
• educational assessments for students who are potential candidates for Trillium program
