The primary purpose of each centre is to:
* provide free and confidential information to connect people to the social and community services and programs available in Halton
* jointly maintain the public online Halton Community Services Directory and publish print and electronic publications

Additional services include specialized services for other nonprofit information and referral organizations, including:
* community information data syndication and leasing
* custom views of the Halton Community Services Directory for targeted subject areas

Regional community information providers to Ontario 211 Services, Home and Community Care Support Services Mississauga Halton, the Halton Child Care Directory and Information Line and other local, regional and provincial projects

Main Services

• free and confidential information and referral service, providing individuals and organizations with current information on services available for Oakville residents
• provides a variety of posters, flyers, brochures and pamphlets from community agencies and nonprofits, free to the public, at all Oakville Public Library branches through community information boards, community outreach, and online
• provides a variety of directories and various lists of community organizations

Halton Information Providers

• lead agency
• in partnership with the other Halton resource centres, maintains the Halton Community Services Directory of over 4,000 listings pertaining to non-profit and government organizations providing services in the Halton area

Access to health care support at home, at school or in the community * Care Coordinators work with people in the community or leaving hospital to determine what help is needed and arrange for care * care is provided in community settings such as the home, school, residential facility or nursing community clinic * provides information about other community services and refers when appropriate

Children's Health Services - Special health services for children in both the home and school environment * supports children when health care provision is essential to a student's participation and development in school programs * services are provided within public, private or home-based schools

Mental Health and Addiction Nurses - Assessments, interventions and support to students and families with mental health and or addiction issues * consultation to school staff in regards to mental health and/or addiction issues as appropriate

Placement Services - Determine eligibility for admission to long-term care facilities and prioritize and manage the admission process * support and information is provided to applicants and their families prior to and during the admission process

Nursing Clinics - Nursing services for ambulatory patients at clinics located in the community

Supported Living - Information and/or assessment for Adult Day Programs (ADS), Retirement Homes, Supports for Daily Living or Supportive Housing

Health Care Connect - Refers people who do not have a doctor to a family health care provider who may be accepting new patients * once registered, program participants are assigned to a Care Connector * Care Connectors work with family doctors and nurse practitioners who are accepting new patients * Health811 (get connected to health care 24/7)

Community Programs - Stonegate CHC provides primary health care services and health promotion and community programs in the Stonegate- Parklawn Community. We identify individual and community needs and respond by providing accessible and inclusive health services and health promotion programs.

Family Programs - Support the health of individuals, families and communities

Housing Help Centre - Support to the residents in the community facing difficulties in accessing housing and/or maintaining their current accommodation * advocate for residents with barriers in accessing community resources, such as financial assistance and emergency support to improve their social health

Physical Fitness Program - Offer free activities to promote physical health and well being

Seniors Programs - Variety of programs for seniors in the community

Women's Programs - Designed to reach out to women of all ages in the community * offer women focused services and activities, and especially welcomes women who feel disadvantaged or isolated * provide individual counselling and advocacy, and facilitates group workshops and activities on topics of special interest for women

Provides community support services to urban Aboriginal clients, regardless of age, who are disabled, chronically ill, frail, elderly or require acute/chronic continuum of care. Services include: medical transportation services, assistance with completing forms, community referrals, home visits, security checks, caregiver support, aid in transitioning from ODSP to Old Age Pension, and congregate dining meals and activities.

* in cooperation with the other Halton information centres, makes available the Halton Community Services Directory
* Halton Community Services Directory is a directory of approximately 4,000 listings pertaining to non-profit and government organizations providing services in the Halton area * the directory contains the names, addresses, phone numbers and a listing of major services or programs * the directory is available via the Internet and at all library branches
* Information Halton Hills is a member of Halton Information Providers (HIP), the purpose of which is to support the needs of the residents of Halton Region by maintaining consistent and credible standards of community and human service information
* Information Halton Hills is also a member of the Community Information Online Consortium (CIOC), a consortium of information providers who are using the software which the Halton Information Providers and the Halton libraries designed and developed

A weekly check-in program for LGBTQ youth in Hamilton. Speqtrum staff check-in with participants once a week to chat, listen, provide peer, and emotional support, and connect you with other resources in the community. Check ins are offered by messaging on facebook, instagram, or email.

A weekly peer support group is also available to those in this program. Peer support session are open hours when Speqtrum staff are available online to chat and help with community referrals, answer questions, and discuss programming.
