A service club that raises funds for local projects and supports Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) which helps with sight related issues and disaster relief all over the world. Supplies Dog Guides to various individuals who are in need.

May be able to help with the purchase of glasses in an emergency, for those on a very low income. A written application must be made before the purchase of the glasses. For information only contact the Lions Hall Chairman at 905-356-6943. Also accepts donations of used glasses to distribute to third world countries.

The Stamford Lioness Club consisting of all women also meets at the hall and supports many of the same goals as the Lions plus Project Share and Mental Health.

Provides short and long-term housing accommodation in group homes and supported living situations to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Develops practical, inexpensive devices that are not commercially available and enhance the daily lives of people with physical disabilities. Volunteers meet one night a month to brainstorm designs, devices are built outside of the meeting time.

Provides light to moderate attendant services * Assistance with daily living activities (rising/retiring, personal hygiene, meal preparation) to seniors in their home

Provides attendant services to care providers, whether they are needed for a new hours, overnight, a weekend or longer.

Provides attendant services, outreach and francophone services to individuals in the community and on-campus attendant service at Brock University and Niagara College.

A support group for those who have gone through the trauma of pre-amputation or amputation. Also offers service for the family and friends of amputees. The group offers a visitation program if requested by the family, hospital, or surgeon. Will try to provide financial assistance towards the cost of prosthetic based on eligibility and availability of funds. Also offers social events. Helps towards gym membership at Brock Wellness Center for amputees who are interested.

A health services organization. Provides training that enables people who are blind or partially sighted to develop or restore key daily living skills, helping enhance their independence, safety and mobility. Certified specialists work closely with ophthalmologists, optometrists and other health care professionals, providing essential care on a referral basis in homes and communities across Ontario.

A therapeutic day activity program designed to enhance the quality of life of adults with physical or developmental disabilities or acquired brain injuries. Provides structured activities that promote the development of social, cognitive, physical and emotional skills that will lead to increased independence and community integration. Delivered in partnership with March of Dimes Canada and Brain Injury Community Re-Entry.

This program is designed and facilitated in a bi-literacy environment to allow deaf, hard of hearing, and deafened adults who wish to further their literacy skills, post-secondary education an/or training program opportunities. The program is provided in a barrier free classroom setting facilitated in American Sign Language (ASL) by using a learner centered approach.

A private rehabilitation service offering individualized residential, neurobehavioural and cognitive community re-entry for individuals living with the effects of an Acquired Brain Injury and related neurological conditions.

Offers a snow removal service for qualified seniors and persons with disabilities. The service consists of snow removal from city sidewalks fronting and abutting the homes occupied by qualified seniors and persons with disabilities. It is not for the removal of snow from snow plow windrows, driveways or any walkway to a home.

Applicants must register for the program by the end of November each year.

Offers residential and lifestyle supports including a wide range of personalized supports to people living in the community - primarily outside of their family home.

Many continue to receive support within group home settings, others reside in home-share situations or apartments.

People who access services receive supports only as needed to encourage their independence.

Supports may range from direct personal care * health care * housing help and skill building to a consultative model of support for those people involved in the Supportive Living Program.

A service club for men and women that raises funds for a variety of charitable organizations.

May be able to help with the purchase of glasses for individuals on a low income through the group's Health and Welfare Committee. Also may be able to help with assistance for hearing aids, equipment, etc. Provide Dog Guides for the blind, hearing impaired or physically handicapped. Also promote the idea of development of programs to eliminate unnecessary blindness throughout the world.

They sponsor the Squadron 337 Air Cadets in Fort Erie so that the youth do not pay for this program.

Literacy and basic skills training, including numeracy, digital, communication and interpersonal skills * helps learners prepare for employment, apprenticeship, secondary-school credit, post-secondary education and greater independence

• regular phone calls to check on the health and safety of people who live alone

• medical alert system
  • allows older adults and people with disabilities to call for assistance using a help button

• companionship, and emotional support to people and their family/caregivers dealing with a life-threatening illness
