Care for people of any age, gender identity or sexual orientation who have experienced domestic violence and/or sexual assault * various options are provided for care of each individual depending on the nature of the assault and time since it occurred

Crisis Residential and Respite Programs

Crisis Residential Program - provides 24-hour continuous care to meet the needs of children when their families are experiencing an emergency, crisis, severe stress or other disruptive situation * can accommodate up to 18 children each night * programs build resiliency, develop coping strategies, confidence and social skills, and increase sense of safety and well-being

Respite Program - provides periodic short-term breaks from caregiving for the purpose of rest and renewal * examples of complex family situations supported by this program include poverty, physical and/or mental health issues, isolation, addiction

Youth groups * Parenting groups * Humana programs are safe spaces for all.

Groups specific to:

• anxiety
• emotional regulation
• building adolescent skills
• healty relationships
• parenting

Jon Clark House (7-bed male program) and Three Quarter House (5-bed female program) transitional residential homes provide programs to prepare youth for independence

Youth live in a semi-independent environment, and are supported as they develop the skills, self-discipline, and self-confidence necessary to live independently in the community

Intensive, out of home children and youth mental health programs providing participants with therapeutic intervention, counselling and life skills * Youth attend school either in the community or at an on-site TVDSB classroom.

Contact Children's Aid Society if child abuse or neglect has occurred, is suspected or if a child is at risk of being abused and neglected

If a child under the age of 18 years has been assaulted, including any assault by someone who is not a caregiver, call the police * if a child is in immediate danger call 911

Ensures the safety and security of all children who are registered, eligible to be registered and community members of Oneida Nation of the Thames

Youth Homelessness Protocol - Participating agency for the Youth Homelessness Protocol, designed to assist youth ages 12-24 in Elgin County who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in finding a safe place to stay and to receive the supports needed to find safe long-term housing

Foster to Permanency Program - Provides two fostering programs

Native family and child services offering counselling, advocacy, parenting programs, family support and the alternative care foster care program.

Mnaasged Child and Family serves 6 First Nations: Aamjiwnaang First Nation, Caldwell First Nation, Eelūnaapèewii Lahkèewiit (Delaware Nation), Chippewas of Kettle & Stony Point First Nation, Munsee-Delaware Nation, and Oneida Nation of the Thames.

Supports mothers, caregivers, children, and youth impacted by woman abuse by providing one-on-one and group counselling

Counsellors seek to strengthen child-parent attachments and promote children's resiliency factors by providing a safe place to process experiences of trauma related to abuse * mothers provided with supports to enhance their parenting capacity

Counselling services available at the Centre, as well as various locations throughout Middlesex County

Investigates allegations of child abuse or neglect under the Child and Family Services Act * provides children brought into the care of the agency with temporary or long-term care through placement in foster homes, kinship homes, group homes or institutions * ongoing supervision, counselling and group support to families * referrals to other community services for families requiring non protection child/family services * handles adoptions and adoption disclosure

PRIDE (Parent Resources for Information, Development and Education) - Pre service training program for prospective foster and adoptive parents * identifies the challenges and opportunities of caring for children and families facing difficulties

Family Violence (0- 18 years) - Promotes safety * group and one-on-one counselling for women and children

Partner Assault Response (PAR) (13-18 years) - Specialized counselling and educational services for people who have assaulted their partners * court ordered program

Men Accepting Responsibility to Change Program (MARC) - The Partner Response Program for men is a 12 week psycho-educational program for people who have used violence and abuse towards their intimate partner including a spouse or or partner. Victims/partners of the individual referred into the program are provided with support including safety planning, referrals to community resources, and updates about the group member progress.

Oxford Child Witness Program (7-18 years) - Court preparation and support for children, teens and their families

Children Exposed to Family Violence (0-16 years) - Group that introduces children to the idea of healthy, non-abusive family relationships, helps them understand that they are not to blame for the violence within their home and works to increase self-esteem

Women's Focus Group (13-18 years) - Counselling services to women who have experienced a violent relationship

Teen Dating Violence Forum (13-18 years) - Opportunity for teenage girls to reach out for help

The Huron-Perth Children's Aid Society (H-PCAS) serves children, adolescents and families under the Child and Family Services Act
Services provided by the H-PCAS include:

• Child Protection
• Counselling services to children under 16 years of age and their parents
• Placement of children at risk in individual and group home foster family settings
• Adoption placement of infants and older children who are legally and emotionally free for adoption
• Supervision, finalization of adoptions through the court
• Ongoing assistance to adoptive families
• Information Dissemination regarding Duty to Report suspected cases of child abuse and neglect through the Purple Ribbon Campaign

Provides confidential counselling services and therapy groups to adult women (aged 16 years or older) who have been recently sexually assaulted or who have experienced childhood sexual abuse or trauma

Provides a safe supportive place to stay for women 16 years and over, with or without children

• 24-hour crisis line (anonymous calls accepted) and transportation to the shelter if needed during a crisis

Counselling program that assists mothers and children whose lives have been affected by abuse

Services include:

• short-term children's counselling
• elementary school-based counselling
• short-term youth counselling
• support, advocacy and referral services to other agencies
• education and information about community resources for women and their children
• education and information about violence against women and its effects on women and children

Counselling available in all secondary schools in Haldimand and Norfolk for all students who:

• have witnessed abuse
  
• have experienced abuse in a dating relationship, either as the victim or as the abuser
  
• have been a victim of sexual assault / abuse
  
• have experienced other forms of abuse in dating or peer relationships - bullying, harassment
  
• want information and help to support a friend in an abusive situation

Classroom presentations are available at the request of a student or teacher on issues including:

COVID19 Staff have access to emails and work voice mail. Staff reaching out to parent/caregiver clients to offer support every 7 to 10 days to track their situations and respond if parent/caregiver agree. Messages retrieved daily from office phone.

Rural Response for Healthy Children delivers the Community Action Plan for Children (CAPC) to Huron County families. Positive parenting programs, child education programs and activities that target families coping with transitions and life changes (first time parents, new children, separation, divorce, loss of a parent, job change, illness), children living in low income families, children living in teenage-parent families, children experiencing developmental delays, social, emotional or behavioural problems and abused/neglected children.

Serve all Huron County families with children living at home.

Several clinical associates provide private counselling services for preschoolers, children, adolescents, adults and couples

Offer assistance with adolescent and child behaviour, personal issues, marital and couple issues, separation and divorce, trauma and grief, childhood abuse recovery, stress & anxiety, financial stress

SADVTC is 24/7 on call team of forensic nurses and social workers who respond to the needs of individuals who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking. Emergency and short-term follow up care is also offered to those accessing the team.

Specialized assessments and individual, group & family therapy for children/youth who have experienced sexual abuse (including peer sexual assaults) or who have engaged in concerning or sexually harmful behaviours. Counselling is available to families impacted by a recent report. Parent/Caregiver involvement is encouraged throughout therapy. Consultation is also available to clients and professionals regarding sexual abuse treatment and healthy sexuality.

Sexual Assault / Domestic Violence Care Team provides care to survivors to help meet their health, emotional and social needs

Services include:

• specialized, specially trained, healthcare team of nurses
• collection of forensic evidence
• crisis intervention
• documentation and photographs
• physical examination and treatment of injuries
• testing and prophylaxis for sexually transmitted infections (STI), pregnancy and HIV
• referrals to community agencies for counselling
• no charge for any services or medication

This program helps youth, who have a history of involvement with Children's Aid Society (CAS), find and access adult services and resources and make the transition Youth In Transition Worker helps youth to make plans and decisions regarding: housing education health care life skills employment personal goals & well being
