The Affordable Home Ownership program provides individuals and families with a loan for the 5% down payment on a home.

Program is a partnership between the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario, the City of Brantford, and the County of Brant. Through it, qualifying home buyers to receive a down payment loan of up to 5% to a maximum of $20,000

Responsible for the administration and management of housing units and provides rent supplements within the City of Brantford and the County of Brant

Administers homelessness programs:

• Ontario Renovates program - a homeowner's financial assistance home maintenance repair program, for low to moderate-income households

A model of affordable homeownership that bridges a gap for lower-income, working families by providing them with the opportunity to purchase their own Habitat home.

Permanent residential development available to persons 50 years of age and older. Buyers purchase the homes/modulars and lease the land. New and used units are available.

Builds strength, stability and independence through home ownership. Mobilizing volunteers, corporate, community & construction partners to build homes then sell to qualified Habitat homeowners. Future Habitat homeowners are given a hand up; not a hand out.
Homes are purchased $0-down, 0% interest, 20-year Habitat-held, geared-to-income mortgage.

Build new homes in partnership with volunteers, donors, sponsors and the homeowners. Improve the lives of economically disadvantaged persons through home ownership to provide the basic human need of decent, affordable housing

Provides rental assistance through a number of housing programs. The Housing Services Department also manages housing owned by the County of Lambton and administers non-profit, co-operative and rent supplement programs. The Housing Services Department also provides assistance to home owners for home renovations and down payment assistance for those renters wishing to become homeowners.

Rent-geared-to-Income (RGI) Subsidy - Social Housing
The County of Wellington supports the delivery of subsidized housing in units where rent is set at no more than 30 per cent of a household's income. Applicant households must apply to the County and meet eligibility criteria.

Rent Supplement Subsidy
Rent Supplement Program allows individuals and families to receive a geared-to-income rent supplement for a unit in the private market. Applicant households must apply to the County and meet eligibility criteria.

Affordable Housing
Affordable housing, sets rent at less than market levels, can be found in the City of Guelph and Wellington County. All prospective households must apply to the provider directly and meet eligible criteria.

Homeownership
The County of Wellington administers two homeownership program:

1. Wellington Affordable Homeownership Down Payment Loan Fund, and
2. Ontario Renovates

Funding to Prevent Eviction
The County of Wellington administers funding for the Housing Stability Program, the Rent Bank, Emergency Energy Fund (EEF), and Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP).

The County of Wellington funds the Welcome In Drop In Centre and Wyndham House to support homelessness prevention, crisis response and housing stability.

COVID-19: Closed due to the current lockdown.

A faith-based, non-profit organization working towards a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Works to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty.

Activities include:

Building projects
Builds homes for low income families, primarily with volunteer labour and donated materials
* homes are mortgaged by Habitat for Humanity Halton at no interest to low income families, who provide an investment of sweat equity in the form of 500 hours of labour

ReStore:
Sells affordable home products, new clothing, toys, and new and used building materials such as doors, windows, shelving, kitchen cabinets and hardware

Woodside Mews consists of 30 independent living garden homes designed to blend with the surrounding community

• homes are purchased with a life lease

Buying or selling:

• Trafalgar Senior Homes maintains a waiting list of potential purchasers
• contact their office to add your name to the list
• may sell or transfer a life lease at fair market value at any time to an approved purchaser from Trafalgar Senior Homes waiting list
• when selling a life lease original owners are able to retain 95 per cent of the selling price of the home

Offers down payment assistance of 5% to new home owners. Available to those with an annual income of $82,000 or less wanting to purchase a home valued less than $340,000 in Bruce County. Assistance is in the form of a forgivable loan when the home is owned for at least 20 years.

suitePEAS (Private Elegant Affordable Spaces):

• a program to repurpose existing larger single family homes to create five single suites or units where five like-minded women 55+ will live in a safe, affordable community environment
• a new form of micro housing - small, compact, low cost, low tech, low risk, innovative and affordable
• financially viable and environmentally sustainable
• this micro housing model can accommodate women with limited income and capital as well as women who are seeking community and are willing to pay market prices for their homes
• suites can be owned or rented

Dufferin County Homeownership Program is designed to provide moderate income households, with an interest free down payment assistance loan/second mortgage to help purchase a home.

There are no monthly mortgage payments for the second mortgage. Repayment of the second mortgage is required when the property is sold.

Volunteers organize donated money, materials and people to build homes in partnership with low income working persons in need of simple, decent houses

• houses are sold to selected homeowner partners at cost with a no down payment, no-interest mortgage (mortgage payments are recycled to build other homes)
• future homeowner partners work a minimum of 500 volunteer hours as sweat equity
