A Pre-Employment and life skills program with three components that include: Industrial Sewing Training, Computer Training and Individual Counselling. This program is funded by the Ontario Women's Directorate.

The Mentorship Program brings internationally-trained professionals together with established professionals for a series of in-person and online meetings to discuss their profession and create an individualized career plan. Mentorship is a one-on-one match between newcomer participants (mentee) and program volunteers (mentors). These strategic mentoring matches allow newcomer mentees to learn about Canadian workplace culture, make critical networking connections, and learn how to increase their marketability by leveraging their skills and previous international experience. By the end of the mentoring journey, newcomer mentees have developed a more relevant and strategic career plan to continue their career in Canada with confidence.

Settlement Services -- services to enable immigrants and refugees to integrate into Canadian society including orientation programs, language and skills training to help facilitate employment, and programs to welcome newcomers to the community. Needs and eligibility assessments, post-arrival information and referral to job search and employment counselling, assistance to establish social and professional networks to promote community engagement, and assistance to access a range of settlement and community services.

Settlement Workers in Schools Program (SWIS) -- provides settlement support to newcomer families in schools during the school year (Sep-Jun). Settlement workers connect with newcomer students and families. One-on-one and group settings. Provide settlement-related information for successful integration * services are available to all UGDSB and WCDSB schools.

Coordinated Language Assessment and Referral Services (CLARS) -- Eligibility screening, language skills assessment and referral to government-funded English language programs including Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC), LINC Home Study, English as a Second Language (ESL) programs, Enhanced Language Training (ELT), Occupation-Specific Language Training (OSLT), and Specialized Language Training (SLT).

Translation and Interpretation Program Services (TIPS) -- services for individuals and organizations

Employment Counselling Services -- assistance with resumés and job search, employment training including Canadian workplace culture, computer skills, and worker health and safety information.

APATISIWIN PROGRAM
The Apatisiwin program offers a variety of employment programs, education, and skills designed to provide opportunities for Indigenous peoples in Ontario to maintain meaningful employment opportunities.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING: This program is designed to address pre-employment barriers of Apatisiwin clients. The intervention also aids in helping those individuals who require additional assistance in order to maintain employment.Examples of pre-employment training includes but are not limited to:

• Literacy/numeracy
• General Education Diploma
• Skills upgrading

PURCHASE OF TRAINING: This program is designed to assist clients who are overcoming existing or anticipated labour force barriers by purchasing training courses in public, private institutions and through recognized trainers.Examples of Purchase of Training costs include:

• Tuition/course fees
• Mandatory training related costs

ON THE JOB TRAINING: This program provides on-the-job training and work experience to clients by providing wage subsidies and other specified costs to employers. The objective is to provide clients with the skills and competencies required to obtain employment.TRAINING SUPPORTSThis program is used to provide financial supports to eliminate barriers for clients participating in Skills Enhancement interventions.Financial supports may provide:

• Living expenses allowance
• Dependent care allowance
• Living away from home allowance
• Commuting allowance
• Parking costs
• Training course related costs (i.e. books, course kits)

SELF-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING: This program provides direct financial support, business training or professional support to enable a client to start their own business or continue in a career of self-employment.Examples of supports include:

Mentorship for Internationally Trained Professionals: the Mentorship Program of Lutherwood brings together internationally trained professionals (ITPs) and trades people in Guelph-Wellington with local volunteer mentors in their field. Mentees will have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the regional job market and professional practice in Canada, and establish valuable networking connections.

Job Search Workshop for Immigrants (JSW): this program is a newcomer's first step to employment in Canada. Staff experts understand the needs of immigrants and can help participants learn what Canadian employers want newcomers to know about getting a job in Canada.

Mentorship Program: matches internationally trained professionals (ITPs) and trades people with local volunteer mentors in their field to gain a better understanding of the regional job market, establish valuable networking contacts, and learn more about sector-specific language and professional practice in Canada
