Literacy and homework support programs provide recruitment and training of volunteers and ongoing support. In-person educational programming in Guelph is currently suspended due to COVID-19. United for Literacy Guelph is now running virtual afterschool educational support programs for the winter 2021 semester. Inquire by e-mail if interested in becoming a virtual tutor.

Volunteer virtual tutors spend 1-2 hours each week reading with a child / youth, helping with homework or doing other literacy-related activities. Programs are organized and coordinated through a volunteer-led Organizational Team and supported by a United for Literacy staff person.

Free service. Trains volunteers and matches them with people who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease or another form of dementia. A registered charity, operated by a group of volunteers, with the sole purpose of caring for lost, mistreated and abandoned animals. Takes in lost, abandoned or stray animals, and gets them a medical wellness check-up, inoculations, microchip, deworming, and spayed or neutered. All the animals are boarded/fostered until a secure, loving home is found.
