Clinical services to families involved in matters before Family Court

• the clinic offers assessment in matters relating to child welfare and the Youth Justice Act
• assessments are assigned to a primary worker and are comprehensive and detailed (taking 12 to 15 weeks to complete) and require interviews with the parties, children, and other involved individuals

Danielle Duchesneau Fund:
Financial assistance of up to $300 per year for women who are victims of vioelnce, to help with:

• legal aid applications
• service of court documents
• limited legal consultation (after first free two-hour session)
• emergency transporation to court
• relocation costs connected to safty risks, change of locks, window security

Payments will be made directly to the service provider as much as possible

Provides one-on-one, confidential counselling for women who have been in an abusive relationship with a male or female partner

• women can be seen in Kingston, Sydenham and Verona
• small support groups are offered throughout the year in Kingston on such topics as healthy relationships, building self-esteem, life after trauma, and women at mid-life
• half-day workshops in art therapy, creative journaling and spirituality are occasionally offered
• an outreach worker is sometimes available to provide court support
• Cross-cultural counselling for immigrant, francophone and first nations women
• Safety planning
• Referrals to other beneficial services in the community

In-person, video or phone services available and based on client preference.
