Provides emergency overnight shelter for homeless youth

• capacity of 15 beds
• safe and confidential environment free of drugs, alcohol, violence, or threats
• offers nutritious food, basic necessities, the use of phone, kitchen, laundry and bathroom facilities
• supportive and non-judgmental counselling, and youth-oriented information and referral
• donations welcome

Emergency and transitional housing for young women:

• capacity of 32
• 14 beds are reserved for emergency shelter clients
• two overflow rooms
• 16 transitional housing apartments who may stay for up to one year
• case management
• easy access to all other Youth Services Bureau services

COVID-19 (27 Mar 2020): Due to COVID19, several YSB sites are closed to the public, but the shelter remains open, with precautions in place. YSB asks clients call before coming to any location: Head Office at 613-729-1000 or Community Services at 613-241-7788.

Young Men's Shelter:

• offers young men immediate access to safe housing
• open 365 days a year
• 24 hour support
• 30 beds for emergency shelter and transitional housing
• young men who lack family support are connected with youth workers who will help explore alternate housing options
• referrals to internal and external housing, mental health, addictions, employment, financial, and health services

Supportive emergency shelter space

• capacity for 18 youth
• clean socks, toiletries and other necessities
• safe place to rest for the night
• activities such as music, games, art, movies, books, etc
• listening ear and informal mentorship
• healthy meals and snacks
• drop-in program
• mental health and addiction support
• information on housing, education, addiction and mental health resources
• low-barrier structure without formal intake process

Provides shelter, education and transitional supports for youth and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless

• Operates a 30-bed emergency and transitional shelter for youth ages 16-24 and emergency housing for homeless families with children of any age
• Shelter workers also assist in accessing emergency resources, housing search, income supports and other related youth needs
• Operates a Food Cupboard for youth living independently and for families who have previously resided at the shelter
• provides monthly access to a food box and clothing cupboard

Voluntary, three-tier program providing short-term support for youth in need of a safe bed where their immediate basic needs can be met.

May include:

• short term emergency accommodation and support (up to seven days) designed to return youth to a stabilized family home or alternate living environment
• longer-term resource designed to provide transitional support towards independent living
• promotion of youth developing skill for healthy independent living
