Searching for Homeless Respite

A drop-in for unsheltered women and non-binary individuals in Hamilton, providing access to meals, showers and basic needs, low barrier health care, harm reduction and withdrawal management services, safe drug use space (from 10pm-9am), systems navigation and shelter referrals, advocacy, care planning and coordination.

Provides a safe environment, forum for discussion, and a place for friends and participants to meet and enjoy a nutritious meal. Health related information is available and representatives from other service providing agencies are often on hand to talk about services or simply to answer questions that participants may have.

Drop-in centre offering daily meals and recreation, harm reduction groups, health care services, professional services, housing support, and social engagement programming. Includes onsite health clinic and Ontario Works office.

Offers daily rest space, light snacks, and washrooms to individuals and families in need.

Drop in centre provides a safe, female-identified space for women to receive compassionate care in a way that creates opportunities to build on their strengths. The women have access to meals, a washer and dryer, personal hygiene products, and can participate in free, women-led activities like yoga, creative writing, craft workshops, and cooking classes.

15 low-barrier overnight beds to women and non-binary people. Beds are available on a first come, first serve basis either by walk-in or community referral. Offers snacks and beverages, harm reduction supplies, emotional support, and assistance with finding housing.
