Wyndham House Youth Shelter open 24 hours a day and all meals provided. Call for information.

A 14-bed facility providing temporary shelter for youth. A shelter overflow process exists; no one is turned away. Services include:

COVID-19 Update: Due to precautions to reduce the spread of COVID-19, only the Eramosa Road office location will be open as of Mar 18, 2020. • child protection services: investigation of suspected child abuse or neglect; strengthening of family support networks
• foster care: foster parents work with social workers to develop a plan for each child in their care; agency provides ongoing support and training for foster families
• family support program: immediate, intensive, time limited in-home support to families in crisis
• adoption services: trained staff assist persons / families wishing to adopt and birth parents who wish to make an adoption plan for their child(ren), including an unborn child; places children for adoption; support provided for adopted persons / birth families who request information about the adoption
• pregnancy counselling: helps women examine available options; facilitates decision making

In-home parenting support program. A public health nurse and family visitor make in-home visits to ascertain and work on important family issues that include

Confidential information line that provides access to a public health nurse for information on pregnancy, parenting, infant and child health. Let's Talk Parenting nurses can also refer a child to other community resources and services.

Planning a pregnancy and expecting a new baby are both exciting times full of change, growth, discovery and often many questions. This free program offers information about having a healthy pregnancy and becoming a parent.

Team of 7 midwives that provide professional prenatal, labour, birth, and postpartum care for families in Cambridge and the surrounding area, including North Dumfries.

Specialized and prioritized services are available for women who are concerned about their substance use or are in recovery and are pregnant and/or parenting children aged 0-6 years. The program aims to offer an appointment within 48 business hours from first contact, and there is no cost to participate.

Program Services:

• Individual meetings with a counsellor
  
• Information about community resources
  
• Supportive counselling group with mothers who are concerned about their substance use.
  
• On-site supervised childcare and assistance with transportation costs may be available to women participating in group counselling
  
• Women who are pregnant can access residential treatment at the Women's Residential Program, a 10-bed abstinence-based addiction treatment program for adult women.

Cambridge Midwives provides primary care for low risk pregnancies. Throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the first 6 weeks after birth. Midwifery care is founded on respect for normal pregnancy and birth as a healthy process and profound event in a women's life.

Public Health Breastfeeding Clinics are run by trained Public Health Nurses. The service is FREE and offers one-to-one breastfeeding assessments, advice, support and referrals to other community services, as needed.

Programs and services have changed as a result of the current COVID situation. Appointments available virtually, by telephone, or in-person at 150 Main St, Cambridge by appointment.

The option of an in-person appointment will be determined by the Public Health Nurse during the initial virtual or telephone appointment. Two-hour free parking is available in designated visitor parking spaces.
