Operates a drop-in centre for community youth and seniors

• Provides social, recreational, and therapeutic activities for older adults and adults with disabilities in a group setting during the day
• Serves as respite for family caregivers
• Provides escort and transportation to other First Nation communities to attend elders functions
• Coordinates a Meals on Wheels program for Mnaamodzawin Health Services
• Hosts activities and events for youth
• Includes a large kitchen and living room area

• Exercise programs on individual basis
• Group exercise programs such as urban poling and VON Canada Smart Program Exercises
• Lunch & Learn sessions on monthly basis with a variety of topics and presenters

Responsible for planning, developing and implementing social, recreational and special events for community members with a focus on youth through the Brighter Futures Program

• Birthday socials (monthly)
• Board game nights
• Bowling nights, swimming programs and fitness clubs

Promotes awareness of youth issues and provides programs and services to enhance the lives of community's youth

• Oversees a youth centre located in the upstairs of the Sports Complex
• Provides teachings, ceremonies and understanding of Anishnabek culture
• Organizes various sports events and opportunities such as basketball skills development and volleyball nights
• Coordinates movie nights, craft sessions and youth dinners
• Teaches classes for regalia making, traditional dance and explains the cultural meaning of both
• Provides presentations and workshops including but not limited to Bullying Awareness, Dangers of Smoking, Teenage Pregnancy and Safe Sex Education
• Supervises trips for youth to attend events out-of-town

Due to the pandemic, all in-person programming at The Door Youth Centre has been suspended until further notice. Online and virtual programs are available by checking the website.

Regular Service:
Youth centre provides drop-in services, structured activities, service programs at the centre and local schools, and fun activities and events for teenagers. Equipped with pool tables, ping pong, card tables, music, snack bar, fooseball and table hockey. Coffee house-style events with live music. Kidmax Summer Day Camp. Christmas stocking program for teens.

Exiting Sex Trade/Anti Human Trafficking Program (604 Laurier West): offers support to Inuit involved in the sex trade being trafficked or at risk in a harm reduction model

Employment Services (1071 Richmond Rd): assistance with writing resumes, cover letters, finding employment or training assists in the removal of barriers in the road to long-term employment
