Craving Change - Small group program for adults designed to help understand the reasons why we eat and provide strategies for improving problematic eating behaviours * offered 1-2 times per year

Adult Baking Club - Teaches young adults how to bake * supported by Coordinator of Community Support Service and Program Assistant

Kitchen Kids - Monthly cooking program for parents with children ages 2 1/2 to 6 years * children prepare and try food while parents learn tips for including children in the kitchen

Nutrition Workshops and Community Gardening

The ACCESS Nutrition Workshops

• introduces participants to simple, healthy and economical recipes to develop new skills; to handle and store food safely; and to expand nutritional knowledge.
• provides the food, the recipe and the instruction
• Participants leave with a healthy meal for their families, healthy substitutions ideas, knowledge about health and safety in the kitchen; and new social networks

The ACCESS Community Garden

• helps reduce food insecurity and promotes better nutrition and health
• promotes exercise, neighbourhood beautification, social interaction, contact with nature, better nutrition and health, stress reduction, stronger communities, increased green space, cultural and youth opportunities.

Gardens and Kitchens

• an ideal place for families, agencies and schools to work alongside one another, taste new foods and learn food safety

Community garden plot program

• provides individuals and families with a garden plot, tools, plants, seeds and automated irrigation to grow their own produce
• seasonal vegetables grown and distributed through requests for emergency food assistance
• volunteers welcome to assist in the planting and harvesting process

Donations of clothing, household items, personal hygiene supplies, and food are gratefully accepted.

The horticultural society aim is to increase interest in horticulture by encouraging private and public gardening, and by holding meetings, exhibits, plant sales and field trips.

Money is donated to various groups to assist in the beautification of Sarnia and area. A newsletter is emailed to all members three times a year.

Community Cupboard - Perishable food, non-perishable food items and toiletries available to any women and their families *supported by donations and community garden

Coordinates the registration and maintenance of a community garden located on land provided by Westview Baptist Church, where people and organizations rent garden plots and grow vegetables, fruits and herbs of their choice

Provide gardening information to the public by volunteers trained in horticulture. Welcome new member who are gardening fanatics!

A community-focused, faith-inspired, volunteer-run, care network (not-for-profit)

• First Serving Dinners - a fresh dine-in or take-out community meal program
• Emergency Meal Program - a frozen meal program for neighbours without homes or in life crisis
• Covid Food Services - a food hamper program to assist neighbours financially affected by the pandemic
• Donation Station - accepts and shares gently-used furniture, appliances, baby items, and kitchen basics with neighbours who cannot afford to purchase them, also includes a children's clothing program, and an elementary school spare clothing program
• The Gathering Food Gardens - community gardens supplying local food programs and pantries
• Celebrate Recovery - a community support program to help neighbours rise above life's hurts, habits, and hang-ups
• Riversyde 83 - currently under construction - a gathering place where food, friends, and wellness converge; this new downtown destination will house a community teaching kitchen, commercial catering kitchen, cafe, marketplace, and meeting rooms

The Community Garden Council of Waterloo Region supports and promotes community gardens throughout Waterloo Region.

Support for community gardens comes in many forms including:

• Helping people to start community gardens (e.g., letters of support, checklists, information resources etc.)
  
• Helping community gardens connect with other gardens with annual events
  
• Helping to connect people to open plots in community gardens
  
• Supporting gardens at municipal meetings for applications or in the event problems arise

The 519 Community Collective has 12 programs including a community fridge nourish kitchen, 2 urban gardens, 23 little free food pantries installed across the region, an assortment of emergency food programs, and more.

Monthly meetings held by the Lynden Horticultural Society. Offers guest speakers on various topics, tours of businesses and gardens, as well as workshops. Annual events include a plant sale and flower show, participating in the Lynden Canada Day event, and planting the gardens around town. Members also receive a regular newsletter.

Hamilton Community Garden Network (HCGN) provides resources and tools needed to start, run, or participate in community garden development.
