On-site early intervention and crisis intervention. Provide assistance with applications to the Victim Quick Response Program Plus (VQRP+).

Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+) -- assistance with emergency expenses related to the incident, including home safety, accommodation, meals, transportation, basic necessities, dependent care costs, counselling, traditional Indigenous health services, cellular phones, vision care, dental care, aids for victims with disabilities, interpretation services, crime scene cleanup, government/medical documents and funeral expenses.

Additional assistance for victims of human trafficking includes storage locker, tattoo removal, and treatment at a recovery facility.

No direct reimbursement to victims for support listed above * financial support also available for victims who sustained serious physical injuries during a crime and for parents of child homicide victims and spouses of homicide victims.

The Domestic Violence Program provides

• medical treatment and emotional support to the victim of domestic violence
• documentation of medical findings such as physical injuries
• photographic documentation of injuries in the event the victim chooses to take legal action
• risk assessment and safety planning
• referral to community agencies including the Women's Centre and counselling services
• follow-up by the domestic violence coordinator to help victims with any problems or concerns

The Sexual Assault Program provides

• care and treatment to female, male and children of any age
• medical treatment and emotional support for the victim of sexual assault
• collecting and recording evidence of the assault
• testing, information and counselling for pregnancy
• testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
• follow-up medical care and referral to community agencies

COVID-19 -Family Service Kent is offering in-person counselling sessions, along with telephone and secure video counselling sessions as options. The intake office will continue to accept new referrals by phone.

Along with increased stress and anxiety, many people in the community may be experiencing financial challenges as a result of changes that may occur within their workplace. As a result, residents of Chatham-Kent can access counselling with our psychotherapists and social workers on a sliding scale, offering affordability. Family Service Kent also has a variety of funding streams that may cover counselling sessions fully, dependent on circumstances.

Offers a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental environment to discuss concerns, clarify what may be helpful, and strengthen clients' ability to make desired changes. Work with individuals, couples and families.

Counselling for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, violence against women / children: also provides community referrals, education and awareness.

A second stage housing program for women and children who have left abusive relationships. Offers a safe, supportive environment for women and their children. Residents meet on a regular basis for counselling and advocacy.

12 week group education and counselling program on domestic violence and non-abusive ways of resolving conflict * victims/partners of the offender provided with support including safety planning, referrals to community resources, and information on offender's progress

A program that provides counselling services to women who have experienced physical and/or sexual abuse in an intimate relationship. Counselling, with a trained professional, may be provided through an individual, family or group format.

Family Court Support Worker Program -- information on the family court process * assistance in preparing for family court proceedings (documenting history of abuse, accessing Legal Aid) * referral to specialized services and supports in the community * safety planning * court accompaniment to proceedings when appropriate

Second stage transitional home for women fleeing domestic abuse or experiencing homelessness, offering a supportive, culturally based home environment including:

• providing shelter, basic necessities and food

• support to develop tools to achieve independence and self-sustainability
