Assists individuals with a developmental disability to live independently in their chosen community. APS workers engage directly with the individual through a person-centered, supportive approach to do the following:
The APS workers collaborate with community-based partners to ensure the rights of individuals with a developmental disability are respected. Supports and advocacy are also provided to assist with legal or housing issues that may arise. In addition, APS workers provide service navigation to youth entering the adult developmental services sector.
- Provide advocacy, crisis intervention, and case management to support independent living
- Develop, implement, and maintain an Individual Support Plan (ISP)
- Support the individual in identifying personal strengths and needs to support social inclusion
- Inform the individual of their legal rights
- Assist the individual in identifying and developing a network of informal supports within the community (e.g. mentors, friends, extended family, etc.)
- Provide voluntary trusteeship services to assist with budgeting for necessary expenditures (e.g. rent, food, clothing, etc.)

Augmentative Communication Services (ACS) General Level Clinic helps children, youth and their families find ways to communicate. The Ministry of Health Assistive Devices Program authorizes Children's Treatment Centre to provide appropriate ACS services to children and youth with home based complex communication needs. Eligibility is restricted to children aged 19 or younger, but clients of the program may be monitored for ongoing communication needs and remain on the case load if needed. Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapists and Communication Disorders Assistants all with additional training in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). Together the team supports children, youth and their families who have communication challenges through the prescription and customization of AAC devices, training and consultation in all environments over time. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Clinic Form and Principal Referral Form are to be completed with parent's consent by the school principle and submitted by FAX, mail or email the forms to mball@CTC-CK.com.

- Hearing aid prescription/evaluation- to discuss the use of hearing aids, provide information and prescribe a hearing aid
- Hearing aid dispensing/selling hearing aids
- Hearing aid re-check
- Central Auditory Processing testing- for children between the ages of seven to thirteen, who may be experiencing learning difficulties
- Otoacoustic Emissions testing- to test the reliability and function of the cochlea (organ of hearing)
- Identifies infants who are born deaf or hard of hearing or who are at risk of hearing loss in early childhood
- Provides parents of deaf or hard of hearing infants with the services needed to develop communication and language skills

- Special Services at Home - a provincial program that helps children and youth with an intellectual disability, and children with a physical disability and their families or guardians by paying for special services they need to live at home and to enjoy learning and participating in the community. Funds can be used to teach new skills or abilities and to provide respite support to the family or guardian.
- Passport - assists adults with a developmental disability and their families or guardians to organize meaningful, individual and group activities that respond to the needs and aspirations of those supported and purchasing services through this program.
- Family Managed Respite - enables a wide range of self-directed funding providing family members or guardians with an opportunity to have periodic breaks from the daily responsibility of care giving.
- Out of Home Respite - extends funding for families or guardians to purchase planned and coordinated respite supports for their children with complex multiple needs. Out of Home Respite is a respite service provided in any location outside the family's home.
- Specialized Respite Support - provides families or guardians with children or youth who have exceptional social, emotional and behavioural needs with opportunities to plan periodic breaks from care giving.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Respite Support - offers a flexible mechanism to families or guardians caring for children and youth who have a diagnosis within the Autism Spectrum Disorder, to receive temporary relief from the physical and emotional demands involved with caring for children diagnosed with ASD.
