Housing Services (CKHS)

• provide rent-geared-to-income (RGI) to 1,415 households in C-K
• area Landlord for C-K public housing (56 buildings, 710 units)
• area Service Manager to 14 C-K social housing providers (1,592 units)
• responsible for affordable housing programs in C-K
• Provides centralized information about private non-profits, co-operatives, municipally owned social housing, rent supplement units with private landlords and affordable housing programs to help applicants of every income level make informed choices about their housing needs
• Special Needs Housing is available for a household having one or more individuals needing accessibility modifications or provincially-funded support services in order to live independently in the community.

Maintains purchase of service arrangements for the provision of Housing with Supports Program beds for those individuals in need of supervised living environments

• Provides permanent housing in a supportive community environment for residents that are living with psychiatric, physical or developmental disabilities, and/or are frail elderly
• Subsidies for the cost of residing in the Housing with Supports Program are offered to qualifying applicants as space allows

Provides rental assistance through a number of housing programs. The Housing Services Department also manages housing owned by the County of Lambton and administers non-profit, co-operative and rent supplement programs. The Housing Services Department also provides assistance to home owners for home renovations and down payment assistance for those renters wishing to become homeowners.

Reaching Home provides funding to agencies for:

Does not offer mediation for disputes involving a client of Community Legal Services, or matters of parental responsibility, divorce, pending criminal matters or claims in excess of small claims court limit
