- any bed admissions to CARAH require assessment by a Crisis Worker in the community, to determine eligibility
- Crisis Workers regularly work collaboratively with local and surrounding Police Services, to support crisis situations in the community
- police are able to access CARAH beds and crisis support directly, for more immediate cases, 24 hours a day
- in some circumstances mobile assessment may require a Crisis staff to recommend and advocate for hospital admission, based on assessed level of risk of harm to self or others, or physical health concerns that may or may not be related to substance use
