Transitions
Locates affordable market rent, community based units across York Region for youth participants

Housing Assistance
Support worker assists youth in transitioning between locations, conducting housing searches, completing government applications, community referrals, and information on shelters and similar programs

Transitional Housing:

• Affordable, secure housing and support services for women and children who have been affected by domestic violence
• Separate, fully furnished apartments, providing long term, affordable housing, (up to one year) with violence protection program, safety and live skills programs and goal setting, resume and job search services
• Support services for both adults and children

Resource Centre Services:

• FREE clothing and household items
• accepts donations of clothing, small household items, educational supplies as well as financial donations to go toward programs

Children's Sponsorship Program:

• assistance with social, recreational and health needs of children in need. Applications are required

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Housing Support services include:

• Gloria House, a supportive, cooperative living environment for five individuals with mental health difficulties
• a Transitional House for three individuals experiencing mental health issues with a maximum stay of six months
• supportive Case Management program and access to a rent supplement program based on the Housing First model

Emergency overnight shelter for men

• allows clients to settle with an address while job searching
• three daily meals
• weekly individual case management with case workers
• System navigation and community referrals
• access to Program room computers during the day
• housing support workers available to assist clients to obtain more permanent housing
• Chaplain services
• AA meetings on site

A 6-bed post treatment transitional housing program for men who have completed a residential treatment program for substance abuse/addiction.

• open to persons of all faiths and to those with no religious beliefs
• transitional housing with an average length of stay from 6 months - 1 year
• a no-alcohol, no-drugs facility operated by the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, Toronto Central Council

At this time, shelter is open for youth that are currently living there.
Crisis care facility offering:

• emergency care housing, food and clothing
• 19 beds
• support in life skills development (dress, hygiene, cooking and budgeting)
• short or long term stay, length of stay determined by person's need and rate of progress
• long term stays require carrying out a plan (continuing education, work, or job search)
• in-house and mobile outreach counselling services for individuals and families
• information and referral

Health Care Clinic
Held weekly for any youth residing at Youth Haven who would like to see a doctor on a drop-in basis, services include:

• full exams
• medication dispensing and monitoring
• advice and information about personal care
• referrals for more complicated physical needs

Youth Hub

• second and fourth Tue of the month (except Jul-Aug) at Downtown branch of the Barrie Public Library
• Staff are available to answer any health and wellness questions, activities and snacks also available
• Partnership between Youth Haven, the Barrie Community Health Centre and Canadian Mental Heath Association

Boxes of Hope Fundraising Campaign

• Purchase a box for $50, contains scarves, gloves, tuques, toiletries, hygiene products, gift cards, bus tokens and more
• Campaign runs until Christmas
• Donors can be eligible to win prizes

Accept donations of:

• Food staples: drop off Mon-Fri 8 am-4 pm at 22 Wellington St E
• donations of store purchased food, clothing and house/cleaning supplies are being accepted, cannot accept homemade meals at this time
• Christmas gifts, winter clothing, socks, hygiene and beauty supplies, school supplies, baked goods, youth-geared Gift Cards (movies, restaurants etc.), bus tickets/passes
• if you have something to donate, call 705-739-7616 to let them know when you will be coming to the house

Permanent and Transitional Housing comprised of approximatedly 50 beds between two programs:

• Domiciliary Care residence for men and women with supports for individuals with a history of homelessness, mental health diagnosis, concurrent disorders and addiction
• Community Residential Facility for men on conditional relase under Correctional Service of Canada

Outreach to youth 12-20 years involved in gangs, at-risk of gang involvement and/or with history of involvement with criminal justice system

Workers assist youth 13-24 years to access services and supports

Aftercare and Transitional Support
Assists youth transitioning out of the care of the Children's Aid Society

iGRAD
Students work with a teacher's support to complete online high school credit courses; classroom open weekdays 9:30 am-3:30 pm
