Emergency Management - Provides short-term (up to 72 hours), personal disaster assistance such as food, clothing and lodging in small scale disasters * responds to larger scale disasters within the Niagara Region in cooperation with government and other agencies * delivers Be Ready workshops on how to be prepared to protect yourself and your family in the event of an emergency to interested groups * volunteer opportunities available
Transportation Program - Provides transportation for older adults and people over 18 years of age with disabilities who are unable to drive or travel with conventional transit services for medical appointments, social and educational outings. Transportation available in all 12 local municipalities within Niagara. Long distance travel also possible for medical appointments in Hamilton or Toronto. Drivers use a combination of cars, vans and accessible buses to provide transportation. Phone to register for service or to schedule transportation. Located in Stoney Creek off Highway eight, this transfer hub will connect specialized transit riders with DARTS, who will drive riders to their desired location in Hamilton. Niagara Specialized Transit riders can book rides to Hamilton for work, social and medical-related trips.
