To provide temporary financial assistance following the Ontario Works guidelines to those individuals who are determined to be eligible and to maintain eligibility for assistance and the types of assistance that a delivery agent is required to offer.

The eligibility rules are designed to ensure that employment is the first resort for people in financial need, and that people turn to Ontario Works only when all other resources and opportunities have been exhausted.
