Regular Service
Delivers nutritious hot and frozen meals on a regular or temporary basis to elderly and handicapped persons who are unable to manage their own food preparation

Regular Service
Program offers support to older adults in the Barrie community who for a variety of reasons are unable to take advantage of the 55+ centres

• program exists to promote wellness in all areas of living: social, emotional and physical
• offers fitness, lunch, opportunities to get to know new people and make new friendships, and opportunities to participate in activities

Delivers fresh nutritious noon hour meals three days a week to residents of Alliston who are unable to prepare meals independently, or for anyone in need whose lifestyle could be enhanced by having a meal prepared for them. Special diets such as diabetic and gluten free will be accomodated. Cost per meal $6.

Rural deliveries are possible but are limited to the following service areas:

• West to Hwy 50
• North to Base Borden (not including Angus)
• East to Green Briar (Line 5)
• South to Loretto

If scheduled meal delivery falls on a holiday, meal will be delivered the following business day.

Mobile meal delivery services include:

• Hot meals delivered Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings
• Frozen meals delivery or pick up options each Friday
• Regular and special diet options available for all meals

Transportation:
Provides frail seniors, and adults over the age of 18 with a physical or cognitive condition needing a non-medical escort local and long distance drives to medical appointments, central Home and Community Care Support Services funded ADP's, grocery shopping, personal errands and social outings. Priority is given to clients requiring drives to chemotherapy and dialysis appointments etc and other medical appointments before errands, shopping and outings. Clients are encouraged to call as far in advance as possible to arrange transportation.

Home delivery service for frozen, nutritionally balanced meals for seniors or anyone requiring meals delivered to their home. Menu has over 200 choices including soups, meals and desserts.

Can cater to special dietary requirements- minced, pureed and carb control, gluten free and low salt options.

Menus available online or one can call to request a brochure.

Registered provider with Veterans Affairs.

No contract required.

• cutting nails
• paring down calluses and heels
• removal of corns
• a foot massage with lotion
• basic foot care monitoring

Friendly Visiting

• volunteers will call clients on a regular basis who are isolated to share in some pleasant conversation

Luncheon Out

• opportunity for adults with physical disabilities and the frail elderly to enjoy a hot nutritious meal
• entertainment and health promotion/wellness demonstrations
• luncheons are held at preset times
• transportation can be arranged

Telephone Reassurance

• telephone reassurance calls may last between 5-7 minutes for a friendly check-in and brief chat
• security calls are intended for check-ins on well-being and follow a different protocol than social calls

• for vulnerable members of our community that are unable to safely acquire the essentials for $35.50
• depending upon availability may include eggs and dairy, breads and baked goods, pasta and soups, beverages, paper products, fruits and vegetables

Provides meals to individuals living at home to ensure their nutritional needs are met.

• Volunteers deliver hot or frozen meals, provide regular social contact, and monitor for potential crisis situations.
• Special diets are available to accommodate client dietary needs such as diabetic or low-sodium.
• Hot meals are only delivered to Shelburne and Orangeville clients. Cost is $7.25 per hot meal.
• Frozen meals are delivered to clients living throughout Dufferin County. Cost is $33 for 7 frozen entrees or 5 frozen entrees with 5 soups or desserts.
• Congregate Dining program - provides a weekly nutritious hot supper and social opportunity for a small cost.

Hot and Frozen Meals

• meals prepared fresh daily and can be ordered 1 to 3 times a week on a long-term or temporary basis
• hot meals are available in minced form
• special meal options are available for those with dietary needs or restrictions
• frozen meals are available/delivered every two weeks
• daily meal orders or cancellations must be received by 9 am

Project Lifesaver Caledon
