Regular Service
Assists Aboriginal families to provide the best opportunities for healthy development for children 0 - 6 years of age through education, family home visiting, service coordination and referrals

Provide support and equal access to information, education, resources and services from within the community promoting healthy independent living. Services can be provided in person, virtually or a combination of both.

Personalized support may include:

• LITERACY support, including filling out forms and applications
• Short-term COUNSELLING, crisis intervention and referrals
• COORDINATION of complex services
• Providing an ACCESSIBLE LINK to local community resources
• ADVOCACY for individuals and accessibility education to community
• Specialized PROGRAMMING FOR CHILDREN with hearing loss of all ages, and their families living in Simcoe County and Muskoka
• Inclusive in-person and online groups, educational WORKSHOPS and events
• COMMUNICATION strategies for individuals with hearing loss and the community at large
• RESOURCES and information relating to hearing loss implications, technical devices, language and culture
• Specialized support and wellness visits to SENIORS (virtual and in-person visits)

Community Support Services staff are fluent in American Sign Language, English and French, and work alongside individuals who identify as culturally deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard-of-hearing, as well as those using an alternative to spoken communication, in their preferred language or mode of communication (speech reading, sign supported speech, text, AAC).

National program supporting families currently living on a low income, young parents, or newcomers to Canada

• provide fun and inclusive activities to support healthy families
• activities relate to nutrition, health, parenting and child development, free nutritious foods and other resources are shared
• Program sessions include topics such as Young Parent Supports, Nutrition and Food Skill building, Parenting Programs, and Early Learning/Family Literacy Programs
• CAPC, MotherCare and Next Step programs continue to operate virtually/on-line and in-person, visit facebook page for information about current events and activities
• offered in multiple locations throughout Simcoe County

Free weekly program that promotes and supports a healthy start for kids in Simcoe County in a friendly and supportive drop-in environment

• Supports healthy families by providing nutrition, health, parenting and child development information and resources for women with children up to 36 months old
• Nutritious food and free grocery cards are provided to eligible program participants

ON y va - Centre pour l'enfant et la famille offers free Francophone drop-in programs for caregivers and children from birth to 6 years old. You can learn and play with your child, meet people or get advice.

Our centre offers a range of services: join fun activities - reading, storytelling, sing-alongs, games and more; get advice from professionals trained in early childhood development; find out about other family services in your community; connect with other families with young children.
